Work on the new Nairobi Railway City Project will begin in two months. It will include eight lines and four extra lines for freight services when finished in two years. The Nairobi Railway project, which would cost Sh27.9 billion, was developed by the UK firm Atkins Global. It was unveiled by the UK Prime Minister’s G7 and G20, Sherpa Jonathan Black. The proposed station is part of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s larger Nairobi Railway City revitalization proposal, which the UK government backs. It aims to reconstruct 425 acres of central Nairobi in order to relieve congestion and boost economic growth. The Nairobi Railway City, according to the Court, is a flagship project in the UK-Kenya Strategic Partnership, which was agreed upon by President Kenyatta and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson during the Africa Investment Summit in 2020.

Fyi, when the Thika hway project kicked off in 09 the Nairobi uni eng faculty unofficially requested the contractors to not ONLY provide work attachment for students but share blueprints as an invaluable real life learning curriculum.
The 3 contractors China Wu Yi Company, Sinohydro Corporation and Sheng Li Engineering Construction collectively said JONG BU (NEVER, NIGGA!?)
I heard the request went as far as the ForMin to no avail. I don't blame Woo- they have their own agenda and have spent decades AND trillions realising their national human technical capacity. Like you I'm happy to see at least some on our side were forward thinking.

I stopped along the road in a no parking area for more than 4 minute in Accra and AMA nearly clamp my car.. The only thing that save me was the fact that I came back to the car with break fluid, so I had to use break failure as an excuse not to get clamped.
