When there's extreme poverty in the country, anything and everything is for sale, including Governance.

I landed in Warri to meet a full batallion of police escort waiting for me at Osubi airport, hired by my host. Apparently, there had been kidnappings in the area earlier in the week

We drove in large convoy of vehicles towards ughelli side, with at least 2 fully kitted special ops mofos, strapped with AKs driving and in the passenger seat of each car

When we got to our destination, I paid 40k to one of security guys to do a gun salute for my guy. They sprayed up the place.

We had around 20-30 NPF goons with us for 4 days, fully paid for. That's 20-30 police men out of active public service during that period.

A couple guys brought their own mopol batallion from Lagos. Our Villa looked like it was hosting the president.

Obviously, without that level of security I would never have set foot in Warri. But imagine everybody with some change hiring all the cops as security, who's left to protect the public?

Split the country into smaller manageable chunks, and let dividends of democracy reach everybody.

Gun ownership has turned into a religion of sorts in parts of this country, to the point that people put their firearms on the same level of importance to themselves as the Bible and family members. A few years ago when I was in Catholic church, the priest had to request people stop bringing their guns to church. He said that it is a place of worship, to preach love and peace, not a place for weapons. Outlawing guns won't fix this problem though. Only changes in the culture will make less people want guns. Extremely strict laws will just drive the illegal gun market and create more problems, like Prohibition did.

This is not to suggest that criminals don't have guns and use them. But the chances of you being shot during a crime are extremely low.

Banning Guns in America like Uk is never going to happen. America is a nation of smaller countries (states) that have the ability to tell the federal government to fuc..k off. It's not like a european country where a single body makes all the laws and therefore all law enforcement is subject to that single body. This makes implementation of these laws much easier.

In America there is the split between federal and state enforcement, and as you see states can more or less decide for themselves what they wish to do. So on a national level you will never have what you want, and in a state to state level, well this adds fuel to the fire as laws in one state mean shi..t in another, so ultimately you have states where one legally buys firearms, is legally registered nationally, goes to another state, and then suddenly influx of firearms which is perfectly legal. Like I said only changes in the culture will make less people want guns.
