what i said originally:

In terms of what is Kenya going to catch SA?....we already know it ain't economy, can't be road network because we are at least 80 years(11th in the world), can't be rail because we are over a 100 years ahead there(13th in the world), can't be airports(20th in the world), not see ports, can't be sporting infrastructure, definitely not catching our Universities, not catching our Health sector(especially private)

so you ain't catching our economy or infrastructure....so what exactly are you catching??
Economy - give Kenya 10yrs.
Infrastructure - give Kenya 20yrs, as I said.
Airports - give Kenya 5yrs... Kenya is now becoming a tourist hub, and that will def drive the urge of setting up more airports.
Universities... We've changed our system, Watch out for the pace... If we're already ahead of you in international schools, what makes it hard for Kenya not to catch up with your unis?
Health sectors: give us 10yrs. We're currently building special cancer units in Africa. The kidney center is now done, we'll not have to travel abroad to seek some special treatment. Soon, we'll have the best medical infrastructure.
Tech -- don't ask. We're 3yrs behind you.
Electricity access --- with the current load shedding in SA, it just points out the reality on the ground; Maybe in 5yrs, we will have I've passed you. I believe by then, we'll have universal electricity coverage.
In rail infrastructure, maybe we need 15yrs - an electric rail system is in the plan. Railway city will pioneer all the rail projects in the country, and it's breaking ground in July. SGR stations and viaducts are something else, I don't know if SA can stand.
Road infrastructure: give Kenya 20yrs -
Road infrastructure is all over the place. We just need a policy that will allow residents to build roads to their doorsteps - this will reduce 20yrs to 10.
Sports center: that is something that can only take 4yrs if we fully embark on it.
Nairobi vs Joburg - give it 10yrs Max, to catch up. We just need to focus on proper residential housing and horizontal infrastructure.
Skyscrapers: Nairobi is overtaking South Africa as a whole in 2030. Mark this tweet.

Population doesn't equate to an economy, but it is a driver of the economy - Only with one condition: if the population is productive.

I see Samboro here ready to defend SA. He wants to play some psychological stunts to make the thread get to Kenya vs SA.

We're smart enough.

Lol there is not to play. SA and Kenya in the same sentence is a sick joke. SA is like 50 years ahead of anything in Kenya. Know this and know peace. This online daydreaming is for kids with candies in both hands.

That's what I'm talking about, once we hit that level, add 10yrs to merge the curve.

Kenya is light yrs ahead of IPPs Usage experience. Eskom debt will still haunt you and the current system - and your govnt will have to sweat before it suddenly adopts it. By then - 5yrs from now, Kenya will be enjoying universal coverage - @100% if not 99%... Debt-free.

Don't allow that man to deceive you.

In 2022, the SA economy Is thrice ours.

In 2020, when covid19 wreaked havoc, SAn economy was $301B. The economic growth rate by then was -7%. In 2021, it jumped to 4.5%, ...then shrank to its normal playground, which is 1.2 - 2.1%,... Their Finance minister has even confirmed their economy will be trending @ 1.8% in the next 3yrs, from 2022.

The country's real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to grow by an average of 2.1 % in 2022, finance minister Enoch Godongwana said on Wednesday. However, GDP is expected to grow by an average of 1.8 % over three years.

So, the 425- 435 he's giving you is guesswork. Kenya's economy is now sailing at 10% growth rate. That is enough evidence that the curve is moving at a convergent state and the meeting point is just a matter of time - if all factors remain constant.
Lol so naive and ignorant

I even admitted that Kenya as a whole will take 50yrs to catch up with the current SA - but I came to notice that 50yrs is too much - so let's give it 20yrs - which makes more sense.
