Once the Nigeria AKG gas project is completed this year we would have the whole of Europe at our mercy. We're not in 2000 where family planning was a none issue in Kenya. Kenya's population growth rate has been showing a downward trajectory since 2015! Next year, it will be even lower than the current one

So, we will never catch up with SA, in terms pf population.

The plant which is located in Lagos is hoped to be a game-changer that will spur Africa's development and deepen regional integration. The production will have at first a processing capacity of 540 000 barrels a day and is expected to reach full capacity by the end of the year or early 2023.

The new Nigerian focus for the economy is gas not evil oil. Russia is 8th in terms of largest gas reserves in the world and Nigeria is 9th.
Unfortunately the immediate Governments after Obasanjo did not continue with the NLNG Train 7 Project where he left it until Buhari. Also the AKK Gas pipeline only began around end of 2020.
One good thing to note here is that these gas projects are being carried out by indigenous companies.
