another one that doesn't understand the difference between nominal and PPP

What you stated(bolded) is the problem when using nominal amounts to calculate GDP or poverty..thus economist use ppp since it takes into account differences in prices of goods and services as well as purchasing power of that specific currency.
keep confusing urself thinking u're convincing me. wink

Little did this laaitjie knew that nominal GDP has nothing to do with difference in cost of living in different countries but PPP does.

No one uses nominal GDP to calculate any major economic indexes, neither did I asked u to use it.

What did you see in Nigeria and where did you visit?
for someone that went to Mali and Nigeria, I expect him to visit the insurgency part of the north. Thats the closest region with Mali.

Tanzania is a really nice country compared to some of the countries I visited in West Africa. I'm not saying they are terrible but what I saw especially in Nigeria and Mali was really not pleasing to the eye. It was only a short trip but those two nations are in a dire state and something needs to be done Asap.

I'm half Moroccan half Mexican by the way but I spent a significant part of my life in Frankfurt Germany. I've been observing from a far but I'll be chipping in once in a while to give my honest unbiased opinion. smiley

Lol they are stalkers,

Never have I heard that sending an email as weird, I mean I didn't embaras him on a public platform. I talked to him in his private space! What is this person hurt about?
You are too soft-hearted.
You give this fools power over you. Why would you even try explaining yourself to him. You owe him no explanation. You did what you did and he better learns to start living with it and stop wailing on your mention.

If the naira gets devalued from 417 naira to a dollar, South Africa would definitely go higher.
Bruv, .,,,I literally don't understand what you're saying. grin
Or what you're saying is simply; that when you remove ksh30trillion from Kenya's GDP, then Ethiopia will be ahead ---- like so shallow and straightforward argument.

Anyway, it's on a light note. cool

GDP in Nigeria in nominal terms for 2021 hovers around 175 trillion naira, converted to dollars (as at the end of 2021) you get around 430 Billion dollars. That's how I understand it.

What was it which didn't please your eyes?
And what are the big differences between Tanzania and those nations you visited?

that's our national poverty line.... If we use the international poverty line of $1.90 a day then it's 17% which is 4th lowest in Africa..... Nigeria is @ 70% using the same baseline....

Don't worry the whole of West Africa is like that. Next time just make sure you pass through Kenya, we have one of the best road networks in the continent so you can travel to all corners of the country. Something you won't see in Tanzania.

That's not the point.

Anyway... Your math is still wrong.

If we go with 415 naira to the dollar, using 175 trillion naira... Then your GDP will be more or less $ 421Billion.

And if it's supposedly 417 naira to the dollar, then your GDP will be at par with SA(the unproven $419B)... With Nigeria being slightly ahead.

Who knows if he visited Niger Republic? Niger shares borders with Mali if I'm not mistaken.
Nigeria may not be touristic or instagramic like Tanzania but there are views and fun places to visit in Lagos, Abuja, Jos, Taraba, Bauchi, Uyo.
