I ordered a bad phone with intention to use it for parts from eBay and the phone cost 70$ and since Heroshe my normal forwarding service is currently not shipping consumers electronic I decided to try GigLogistics overseas shipping

On the app it’s clearly stated that the cost for shipping a used phone is 30$ For the go standard delivery option and 100$ for go faster but on the phone reaching their ware house GiGL sent me a receipt of 100$!!!


I’m supposed to pay 100$ for shipping a phone that cost 70$

I called support here in Nigeria and confirmed again and they told me that it can be switch to go standard that I should email the US office

After sending the Us Office a mail on my intention to switch
They are telling me Go standard isn’t applicable to gadgets and perfume
When on their app it’s clearly stated there that Go standard for used phones is 30$

Now gig isn’t replying my emails or Instagram messages and are deleting every bad comment from their Instagram post
If this isn’t scam what is

Currently I’m still trying to see how I’ll recover my items

But others stay safe and avoid gig overseas

Major reason I avoid big big organizations for shipping, they extort and also add extra money to the shipment, they can change mouth anytime and they know there's nothing you can do about it, you either pay, or still be left with daily dumuurage to pay in the end, so forfeiting the item will be the only option.
You should have enquired from sure and trusted nairaland shippers and pickers.

This is the reason why people don't patronize Nigerian businesses because of trust issues.

I think you should report them to the Consumer Protection Council of Nigeria go on Google and read up how you can make your complains.

I didn't ask them to ship yet and they arbitrarily decided to process my items that is less than 7lbs and sent me a bill for $50. Ok then, I told them I have 2 more items coming in, that would make up the weight to their minimum 9.3lbs. They said no, that once they process, I can't add anything else to it

Please make it make sense! Did I request for processing? No! Did you ask me if you can proceed? No! So I should start budgeting another $50 for incoming items that are not up to 2lbs?

There wasn't any resolution for me. I paid the $50 and cancelled their services. Those people from Houston office are something else and will be the end of them

Gig are biggest scammer never you patronized their US service again! Dem do me strong thing in 2015 cos after paying the agreed 150k for item pick up I ended loosing these items worth more than 3million naira in the name of my items have been seized by the US government item you’ve picked already and you’re now sending me mails my items were seized. After so many waka waka dey end up paying the shipping only but all my items gone. You can use their Nigeria service but US is a no no cos their organization is a criminal one.

Their UK manager charged me double what they're advertising (£141 for 16kg, instead of £78 at £4.90 per kg). I sent a dozen emails asking for a breakdown, but the guy kept refusing. Acting like an emperor or like he was doing me a favour.

Over a period of two weeks, I sent emails, posted on twitter, instagram, facebook with no effect. In the end I had to contact one of their directors via LinkedIn who agreed to help. It was only after he got involved that the yeye UK manager rectified the issue.

Anything Nigeria is always a scam.

It is sad that other International Reshippers don't have partners in Nigeria - I would have kept all my business away from Nigerian Businesses abroad - they carry their daft criminal mentality anywhere they go
