Bro I have heard life experiences from people who went and returned. A cousin of ours who have B S from an American university returned last December after completion of his education and gave us first hand account of how Nigerians, blacks are going through hard times there. When you are broke in America you will realize how easy you have it in Nigeria. If you go abroad you will see people that sold their inheritance to travel and they are stuck. If there are 100 people abroad , maybe 5 may be successful but the other 95 will be full of regrets. The high cost of living there negates any perceived positive.

Oga I am angry at the situation of Nigeria. I am indeed very angry about it.
I am a salary earning civil servant in my late thirties.

I do not see a pathway to moving to another country because I am too old for that and I have family members who depend on me.
Shouting at me to japa after every disaster is truly insulting to me. I choose to be optimistic that things will eventually get better. Maybe once the cabal in Nigeria dies off or the young people wake up, then things will indeed get better but for you to be shouting japa at me everytime there is a disaster here when I know I am stuck in this country is indeed insulting to me.
You should also advocate for us to get it right with our leadership or lend opinions that gear towards solving the problem not just to shout japa at a civil servant like me.

If you are in your late 30's you are not too late, especially if you have a degree. If it is something you are interested in you should look into relocating. Canada seems to be the place for now, but avoid the scam visa agents.

I been no dey too gbadu Japa things until my bosom friend we lived together as housemates got married 2019 and Japa'd to Canada with his wife.

Apparently, his wife's family were rich and they sponsored their PR there. Baba started life as a cleaner, then to side-walk cleaner all in Calgary. Now, Baba is working professionally with a reputable Insurance company in Ottawa.

Life don soft for my man. We both did this pastor work together in Portharcourt. Most of the prayers we used to pray about then, he has stopped it. He dey serve God now for real, not because of situational problems or poor working society.

Na the young guys wen go grow amongst this kind people when dem get old I dey pity pass. The kind bitterness and anger ehn! E get reason why I say many people get comfort zone… comfort zone na bad thing, e go even make you believe say you have done everything you can do.

E get one of my paddy wen carry him pale and him maale come Yankee. When the pops reach here, baba wen everybody dey respect for naija as elderly man no send anybody for here oh! Doc, you need to see baba in action.

Baba dey work like shege and after every 7-10 months, baba go carry all him small dollars wen him don work go naija go invest in different ventures like land, farming, him go donate some to the public primary school wen dey him community, give some to him age mates wen dey struggle or no get anybody wen dey help dem.

Baba go spend 2-3 months for Naija, come back Yankee come see him doctor for him routine medical checkup which is free under Medicaid and if him get serious sickness, Medicare go take care of am for free if he is hospitalized. He will repeat the cycle again and him no dey miss Christmas for Villa or any important occasion. Man is living his best life and never stops blessing his son for the decision to japa when the son did.
