coputa:Some of you guys are just so funny I have never seen you preaching to you Ibo brothers and sisters who have been saying if the major parties ticket is not microzone to the South East, then the North should continue. But here you are calling me an ignorant person Lol The joke is on you though. |

DOTian:You make a valid point but that is only one facet. Seun's musing is about Southern Unity. Barrel of the gun or not, the South can form a coalition if it wants. Afterwards, it can then adopt a strategic plan to slowly loosen the North's grip on military power. But first, there must be a purposeful amalgamation of all 3 major Southern blocs. The primary reason why this has not happened yet is because the two most populous ethnicities in the South want indisputable supremacy in any such coalition. Else, most of the elements of "unity" observed in the North also occur in each Southern bloc. In the SW, within the Tinubu political family, your actual state/village of origin or religion does not matter for political growth. The SE has voted as a unified bloc in virtually every election cycle, irrespective of the infamous republican nature of the Igbos. The SS best resembles the North. Oshiomole is a Muslim, that did not stop everyone in the SS from backing him, even GEJ as the President in an opposition party, for two terms. Ned Nwoko is a Muslim, he just won primaries and is as good as the winner in the general election. In a national election, identify yourself as a bonafide Niger Deltan, and everyone from the Bini to the Anang will back you. There'd be no need to buy kolanut or palm wine. Yet, the SS is more diverse than the SW and SE. Forging a super-culture from these three blocs is possible. But first, there must be mutual trust. Mutual trust already exists between the SE and SE. But the SW, especially with the Tinubu political faction being the main force, do not want to build bridges. Rather, they desire an exclusive relationship with the North which will be used to subdue the entire South. Seun himself is part of this movement. If Tinubu had his way in the APC as he naively envisaged, Seun will not be talking about "super-culture." In fact, in this "super-culture" he is alluding to, he expects the Yorubas to be at the top like the Fulanis are in the North (through the Dan Fodio dynasty in the royal houses) and the Americans are in the Hemispheric West. While Igbos, Ijaws, Urhobos, Ibibios and every other ethnicity play second fiddle. Which is why it is important that an Easterner (SE or NE) becomes the President in 2023. The SW CANNOT have the Presidency after completing 8 years of VP. Even the NW which is the most dominant region is not that greedy. Atiku is from the NE. Lawan is from a minority tribe in the NE. But a certain personality has said his personal ambition is more important than equity. If he and his urchins are not dealt with, they would think themselves invincible. When they have been whipped and have grieved properly, we can start talking about Southern Unity based on shared values. And one of those values must be equity. -Lord |

Parachoko:1999 marks the start of the Fourth Republic. It started on an amicable note. The North brought Obasanjo out of prison and backed him to become the President. The understanding was that the South and North will rotate power every 8 years. Obasanjo tried to play games in 2006 when he wanted third term, but he was forced to shelf that plan and hand over to the NW. The current political fracas is because of Yar'Adua's demise. If he hadn't died, people like Buhari and Tinubu have no business being in the immediate vicinity of Aso Rock. They should be perennial INEC customers. There is no credible reason why the Presidency should go to the SW in 2023, after they've completed 16 years in Aso Rock. The NC has voted for every winning party since 1999, they've not smelled Aso Rock. SE hasn't. But a senile greedy c*nt thinks the Rock is its birthright. -Lord |

Parachoko:It is needless to cry for the hen that can't protect her chics from the hawk. You have no excuse because the south east has provided a veritable platform(labour party)to push in PETER OBI. |

LordAdam16:Except for this presidential election Tinubu has engage himself in, can you tell me the position Tinubu has contested for since 2007? Is Tinubu asking people not to contest? Obasanjo had to compete for PDP ticket against men like Ekwueme. Okorocha,Odili compete against Yardua and the others for the PDP ticket in 2006. Okorocha competed against Buhari in the APC Nobody is stopping South East Politicians from competing, why should Kalu step down and choose to support Lawan a Northerner while there was the likes of Umahi and Ken Nnamani contesting? How you guys are wailing this badly because Tinubu, Osinbanjo, Amechi, Bello, Atiku is exercising their right is so funny ![]() Atiku didn't step down for an Ibo man in the PDP, he has not gotten the kind of hate Tinubu competing in the APC has gotten even though the APC has never won a presidential election in the South East. Majority of the people from the South East once called APC an Islamic Party, how una don dey get headache right now because of APC matter is funny. Vote whoever you want to vote in the presidential election, Tinubu won't step down for anybody. He made it clear to the panel, except he is the consensus candidate, he is not stepping down for anybody On Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mandate I Stand Gidigba

Parachoko:He wants to accept anointing oil as consensus candidate, but will not recognize another person accepting it. He wants to rule for 8 years after SW has done 16 years in the Presidency, but he does not want another region to do the same. And you get mind dey loud am dey form "I'm a Lagos-based Niger Deltan." This kind of selfish, greedy Arrow with no regard for equity or fair federalism is who you want to foist on a diverse country like Nigeria. As if the experience with Buhari is not bad enough. No worry, we will live long enough to see how this movie will end. -Lord |

LordAdam16:The likes of Amechi, Osinbanjo, Umahi, Onu etc agreed to step down for the consensus candidate, why have they not throw their support behind Lawan by now? |
| Re: Why The North Is So Powerful - Seun Osewa by LordAdam16: 1:00pm On Jun 07, 2022 |
Parachoko:Did any of them say if there's a consensus candidate, they would not step down? The governors are still playing spoiler. Consultations are still going on. When time reach those that want to drop will drop. Those that will decamp to vie elsewhere will decamp. The annoying part is how you folks are talking about contest as if Tinubu is going for picnic. Tinubu even becoming the President will not even be the end of the world. The problem is how he is going about it. The NW have had 16 years in the Presidency and don't mind a SW Presidency because they'd have VP position for 8 years. Even if it is Muslim-Muslim ticket. If no one fights them now, that's how two regions will be rotating the top 2 posts in the country, while forming political sophistry. Let Tinubu go to the SS, SE, NC, and NE and convince the regions why he should get 8 years before the other regions. Not to be crying it's my turn, Buhari is ungrateful, Osinbajo is a Judas. Then when the other regions connive to take it from his hands, he starts threatening to fight dirty. For this country. -Lord |

LordAdam16:The Party Chairman already made it clear yesterday, Lawan is the consensus. Or did Adamu deny saying it? Tinubu won't force anybody to vote for him today, you don't need to be going through this stress because of the Jargaban. On Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mandate I Stand Gidigba

Parachoko:Stress ke. I'm not the one repeating "On Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mandate I Stand Gidigba" in every post. Party Chairman and the Presidency have their consensus. Governors want their own consensus. Let the Governors finish their consultation. In 48 hours time, it will all be over. -Lord |

LordAdam16:You're the one stressing yourself out cause of Tinubu matter when you are not even a delegate. 48 hours you say? When we go know the winner before 12pm. LordAdam16:Tinubu did this, Tinubu did that Why should you be angry the Jargaban is saying he deserve to get his party ticket? Are you even an APC member? Wey you dey carry the matter for head like gala ![]() Your own duty is to vote whoever you want on the election day, not to be angry about the internal politics of the APC. Stop stressing yourself because of the Jargaban. On Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mandate I Stand Gidigba
