Unfortunately, Labour no need heavyweights. They only need millions of youths and Nigerians who are dissatisfied with the system.
Kwakwanso or no kwankwaso. APC + PDP must be OBIdient to Nigerians

For Nairaland abi?

For Obi to get any result somewhat not disgraceful, he has to run to Kwankwaso as quickly as he can.

Do not overestimate things. Tinubu is no joker.

Obi's naivety, when it comes to national politics, is a major concern.

He needs Kwankwaso like yesterday.

Nigerians won't bother to ask the right questions now o, they'll fall in love with their saviour Obi and start building fantasies of a robust economy, no more bandits, no more kidnappings, killer herdsmen. Unemployment will be very low and price of goods will fall dramatically. They'll build fairytales of stable electricity with no blooshed, everyone is happy singing kumbaya in a circle.
when electorates focus on local representatives, then we know we are ready because there will be no tribalistic cards to play by politicians.

Obi will change this Obi will change that, HOW? This election is crucial no doubt, so let us ask the right questions and before una start shouting he turned Anambra into Dubai, OMO Anambra no be Nigeria o, a dog is different from a lion. I'm sure the Igbos will no longer shout marginalization once Obi is elected but will the North not bring back bombings and kidnappings? How does he plan to satisfy everyone without compromising himself? Reminds me of Jonathan, humbleness 200%, action 0%.

Some people still dey fool themselves say Obi no go dish bribes, make compromises or shady deals.....I LAUGH IN SWAHILI! The Nigerian president is only a puppet in the hands of the Legislative branch, it is a toy in the hands of some political, ethnic and religious leaders. Unless Obi wants to go into a war he cannot win, Nigeria is going to need a revamp of the 1999 Constitution and about 60-80 Obi type people across leadership positions in Nigeria.

UNA SEE SAY WAHALA NO DEY FINISH grin grin grin grin
there must be a starting point.
if the only thing a new president can achieve in Nigeria is just dissolution of the powers in the center, then it's a very big win for the masses. from that point, the office of the president will become much less attractive and people will instead focus on who represents them at the local levels.
when the electorates focus on local representatives, then there will be no hiding place for politicians because their main weapon which is tribalism, can no longer mask their incompetence. campaigns will be purely issue-based. a Desmond Elliot for example, will never win a reelection in such scenario.

Nonsense report. Labour party is currently in court over who the authentic chairman is and as long as there is a legal dispute, no action as serious a merger can take place. Inec has set June 17 as deadline for submission of candidates while the Federal High Court will rule on June 30 on who the real LP chairman is. It is a certainty that the loser will appeal up to the supreme court.
Is this supposed to be a sort of consolation or what? If you're a youth, typing this , it's unfortunate

The question is willingness to accept. If he accepts to be VP, it means he's willing to take instructions from his boss.

I am sure that Kwankwanso knows that he cannot be president under the current NNPP.

And Obi can with this LP?

Please I have been meaning to ask. Difference btw Labor party and Zenith Labor party. I know that Dan Nwanyanwu used to be Labor party chairman and later he became chairman of zenith labor party. Was it a breakaway from labor party?

So the identity is no longer Hausa-Fuani; it's now Hausa apart from Fulani? What would people not do to explain foolish behaviour! In 1993, the Igbo preferred Alhaji Bashir Tofa of Kano state "over your fellow educated southerber" MKO Abiola. It's was a landslide for Abiola everywhere except in Igboland. Check the history books and the newspapers of the time for clarification.

At least we've shown we are not tribalistic like you guys.

We voted for Tofa, voted Obasanjo, Voted Jonathan, voted Yar'adua. Which includes all the geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

Can you guys just mention one Igbo man you've openly supported or voted for?

The closest we had to an Igbo man was GEJ and we saw how you guys insulted him and called him names because of a very incompetent Buhari.... I hope you enjoyed the suffering that followed after.

I want Obi to partake in this election, it will make Atiku very uncomfortable, since south east is the base of PDP. But you see merger, it is too late for that. The only thing Kwankwaso will accept from Peter Obi's camp now is for Peter Obi to become his bItch!

That is the plain truth!

But trust the Obi's supporters, they will remain beclouded to rational reasoning until after the election.

Merger before MERGER. LP/NNPP + PDP is a GOAL. All will finally collapse into PDP, just watch events unfold before final date for candidate substitutiom.

The President needs to swing south, moreover Obi and LP are gathering momentum quickly.

Obi being the President is the best, bc LP can choose a good VP other than Kwankwaso from the North and still push but NNPP will find it hard even trying to choose from even the SW which should be Tinubu's stronghold.

Talking all kinds of nonsense that even kwankwaso will never say.

it is apc supporters that cry when they hear that southern Nigerians are getting their pvc.

Why start at the presidency, why not winning local, state/regional elections. Even in societies where the democracy is very strong, independent or no name party no dey win presidential elections not to talk of Nigeria. You really believe when hungry Senators, monarchs, thugs etc are shouting for president to release money for their bellies, how long do you think Obi can resist before turning into persona non grata?

In sensible countries, movements are built from the ground up but in 9ja, it must start from the top, when the top now fails, there's no foundation to stand on and everything goes to shitz, there's a reason you don't hear from Sowore, Obi, Utomi even Atiku until election period grin

Peter obi has a more intimidating portfolio.

He was a critical member of the federal economic team under Jonathan.
Worked closely with NOI.
Held advisory position with SEC even as governor.

Deputy chairman of the Nigerian governors forum.
Chairman of the south east governor forum.

Those are bigger portfolios.

If he was greedy enough to be senator, he would have won it.
And his advisory position in the federal government was more or less ministerial.

Stop capping.

Kwankwaso is not as big as him.
Don't mistake humility for irrelevance.

This is peter obi
