VP candidate is nominated by the presidential candidate of the party who was elected at a convention.

The VP was not elected at any convention, he was nominated and as such can be substituted by the presidential candidate not later than 4 weeks after.

The presidential candidate can so substitute the VP with or without his permission or written note. The VP hasn't been elected with him in a joint ticket so he can substitute him before July 14th.

I hope PDP understand better now.

There is no problem to face. The law allows substitution. Infact Presidential candidate can withdraw and be replaced with another person, he only needs to write to his party that he is no longer interested in running and he is replaced by the party with another person, the party does not even need to do primary election to substitute, how easy it is.
No, you will conduct another primary.

Had it been is only Labour party that is involved in these place holder now.The propaganda will be from Tinubu
Even if it's only Obi, any propaganda that doesn't have basis in electoral act is noise.

We Tinubu supporters are not illiterates. We look at the position of the Law and other extant rules before we comment. Substitution is in the Electoral Act and no one would criticize Obi or anyone for that.

You think they don't know this abi. Both place holders would have already signed a letter indicating their withdrawal even before their names are submitted
They have to submit the letter themselves. There is the issue.

We all can't wait for NNPP LP merger
I don't think there can be a merger. Section 81 of the new electoral act says all merger should be done 9 months before an election.

I can tolerate Obi dealing with indecision about VP to pick considering everything happened for him in quick pace.

I cannot tolerate Tinubu not having a pick. He has had ambition to be President in APC since 2015. He knew this time must come when he would pick a VP. Why is he pussy-footing around? Moreover, he selected a muslim for place holder, why not a christian? It says the direction he will go eventually. For him, the place holder is a smoke screen to pacify and drain off the anti muslim/muslim public noise.

Primaries are not conducted to elect VP candidates, they are only nominated once they satisfy the provisions of the law. So I think the VP candidate can so withdraw and be replaced easily with another nominee provided it is within the allowed timeframe.

Relax....

Kwankwaso will collapse his structure for Peter Obi...
We are obediently waiting for him... But if he continue his block headache will serve no choice bringing Alhaji Sanusi (formal CBN) as running mate for Peter Obi

Thanks for the clarity. The word is to collapse the structure and not merge parties.
