This is 2022, Accra is nowhere in the picture. Sustainable means green, if you don't know.

In 2022, the top 100 sustainable cities of Arcadis are Oslo (Norway), Stockholm (Sweden), Tokyo (Japan), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Berlin (Germany), which took the first five places. While several major cities in Europe or America do not appear in this world ranking, Africa, through Cairo, Cape Town, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Lagos and Kinshasa, is among the best in terms of environmental practices and ecological transition.

The above index ranks discipline in environmental practice. The previous index where Nairobi, capetpwn and Morocco came on top specifically focused on Eco- consciousness or rather the love of Nature( animals, plants, sea, lakes, oceans).


Green can be factored by many aspects-- Some cities like accra are blessed to have trees sprawling everycorner of the city( no human effort in making and sustaining them)... That does not mean anything, man made trees; like those in Joburg, Nairobi and cape town are what matter most. We plant and take care of Trees, that's why we're called the green city under the sun.

The fact is, Nairobi is not in the top 10 most green cities on the continent.
