Speaking about networking, he should be intentional in networking and making friends when he arrives. The core of his friends should not be fellow immigrants like him…He needs to make sure he mixes it up with more Americans without necessary coming off as desperate or weird.

In school, he needs to build a strong relationship with his professors, highly placed academic administrators/ instructors, and classmates, it was very instrumental for me. I still rap with many of my former school mates and I can’t overestimate the kain connections they have assisted me with professionally: academically and personally.

Getting good grades requires hard work but it can also be easy here when compared to the environmental stressors one has to navigate in Naija. Smash your classes and grades and let there be a buzz about you within the department!
