Anyone advocating the same faith Presidential ticket does not mean well for Nigeria and such people are generously courting the disintegration of Nigeria.

With the current state of the nation where we have several ethnic and religious biases with the lokes of IPOB, Yoruba Nation agitators, Ijaw nations agitators, a truly responsible and equitable government remains the only uniting factor. A Muslim-Muslim ticket will only help to increase the agitation for separate countries, such that no civilian government can handle it.

There are clear antecedents of these in Africa for Nigeria to learn from:

Second Sudanese Civil War and Break-up
Civil war was sparked in 1983 when the military regime tried to impose sharia law as part of its overall policy to "Islamicize" all of Sudan. Beginning in 1983, the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) led insurrections in the south, a region dominated by Animists and Christians.
The Sudanese war lasted for 22 years and is one of the longest civil wars on record. The war resulted in the independence of South Sudan six years after the war ended. Guerrilla forces of the Sudan People's Liberation Army celebrate over a disabled tank. Sudan, once the largest and one of the most geographically diverse states in Africa, split into two countries in July 2011 after the people of the south voted for independence

The Religious War In The Central African Republic Continues
On May 2, 2018, gunmen with grenades attacked the Notre-Dame de Fatima church, a Roman Catholic church, in Bangui in the Central African Republic (CAR). 15 people were killed, and dozens injured. The attack comes a few weeks after 28 people were killed in violent clashes after an operation launched by UN peacekeepers and local security forces in the neighbouring Bangui district of PK5. This sectarian violence has been escalating since February 2018. The recent attacks are nothing new as religious (and ethnic) conflicts have haunted the country for several years, reaching a peak at the end of 2012. Prior to 2012, 85% of the population of the Central African Republic was Christian with a 15% percent Muslim minority. This has changed significantly over the years. This violence led to the forcible displacement of 99% of the Muslim population of Bangui. Furthermore, 80% of the Muslim population of CAR has since fled to Cameroon and Chad. Reports suggested that out of 436 mosques in the country, 417 were destroyed. The return of Muslim minorities back to CAR has been very slowly ever since and the remaining Muslim minorities predominately live in the peacekeeper-protected enclaves.


Rwanda
The Rwandan war arose from the long-running dispute between the Hutu and Tutsi groups within the Rwandan population. The Hutu and Tutsi adhere essentially to the same religious beliefs, which include forms of animism and Christianity. The two ethnic groups remain deeply divided over the apportionment of political power in both Rwanda and Burundi, however, the genocide was the culmination of decades of division and incitement of hatred towards the Tutsi by extremists in the country’s leadership, which was controlled by members of the Hutu majority group. A deliberate process of positioning the Tutsi as a dangerous and inferior minority group, and even as less than human, set the stage for the genocide that was to come.

Nigerians need to reject the Muslim0Muslim ideology and ticket as it will lead to a greater agitation than we have seen before!!

We in the south complain about northerners voting through religious line instead of competence and yet we are still the one complaining about a muslim Muslim ticket when we know we will not vote him.

Using Sokoto state as a reference were the late Deborah was murdered and majority of same religion faithfuls who were responsible for her death all kept quiet. That's same way they will keep quiet when religious terrorists will be attacking Christian communities. In a secular country like Nigeria that is not yet matured, having same religion of both the president and vice, is very dangerous. Politics here is so petty. Nobody should be deceived by woke statements. Anyone in support of same religion in the highest office of the country, has an ulterior motive.
