Was watching an American movie yesterday where a family were going on vacation, suddenly an accident occurred and they all landed in a deep lake...could u believe they all swum out of the water including a little girl of 8 years...I said to myself hmmm if na me be this happen to na Gunner...As far as Nigeria is concern if am not skillful at swimming forget it I no dey enter Nigeria boat. No rescue team, No life Jacket , no approved license,everybody just dey use dey use paddle up and down risking lives

I doubt all 15 passengers didn't know how to swim for some reason. Sometimes a suction from the boat going under could complicate matters, sometimes in such an event, a drowning copassenger will cling to you and drown you too. When I was a kid swimming in Amadi creek in PH, I tried to save a friend from drowning and he pushed me under the water in a state of panic, while he was collecting fresh air above and I was kicking for the both of us. I already knew the technique to approach a drowning person as below, but bros grabbed me while I was trying to approach him from the back and put him in the hold like below. I don't even know where I got the strength to extricate myself from that situation and also put him in the position but I could have lost my life that day as I was losing strength underwater.

None of these is enough to drown a swimmer. Even trenchcoat or agbada won't drown a swimmer. It would have to be suction, entanglement in boat ropes, head injury upon the accident, engine creating a whirlpool, fellow passengers or a rip tide.
