Many believe that being a good person throughout their life is all that God requires. Others feel sure that even if they commit serious sin, God does not care as long as their overall life pattern is positive. They believe that God is more inclined to forgive than to condemn. But what does the Bible say? What must we do to have God’s approval? What does it mean to be a good person in God’s eyes? Revelation 4:11 says "You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honour and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created." As our Creator, Jehovah God has the right to give us moral direction. In the Bible, God provides laws and principles to guide our conduct and worship. To his people and all humans, God said: "Obey my voice, and do all the things that I command you; and you will become my people and I will be your God.”—Jeremiah 11:4. Imagine that you wanted to become someone’s friend. You would naturally want to know how that one prefers to be treated, and then you would act in a way that pleases him or her. So “being good” from God’s viewpoint requires learning what his standards are and adjusting our life to meet them. |

being Good is the evidence of your faith. even the pagan can be good and sincere . what matter the most is your relationship with God. Good works are not what a person must do to be saved. "But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" Rom. 4:5 YES, believe in Jesus, your faith will be counted for righteousness |

malvisguy212:So what you are insinuating is that Jesus Christ was wrong in declaring that only the virgins who had good works to light up their lamps would be welcomed in to be with the bridegroom - Matthew 25 vs 1 - 13 ? ![]() You believe Jesus Christ in insisting that only those who are sheep - those who do works of righteousness - would enter into Heaven when He returns was wrong in His declaration - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46 ? ![]() It is impossible for anyone to sincerely love God without doing - obedience- exactly as God commands and He commands good works - John 14 vs 15 - 25 & John 15 vs 14. Particularly since faith refers to the living of one's life in continuous submission and obedience of Jesus Christ's every teaching and commandment. And it is written that it is only those who stand faithful till the end - not before- that will be saved - Matthew 24 vs 12 - 13 & Mark 13 vs 13. ![]() |

malvisguy212:Faith is not enough for one to be saved. It must be accompanied by doing good to others, obeying God's laws etc. James 2:17,20 emphasize that faith without works is dead. James 2:24 says "You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works and not by faith alone." |
