Mr. Man, stop supporting nonsense. You are so used to living in a destroyed system that you don't even know right from wrong anymore. In a sane society, police won't even make an arrest because a court they know will declare him innocent, free him, and demand the police pays him some money.

Charges can only pend as you said, if the police suspects he committed a crime. And they can only suspect he committed a crime if they investigate him. You don't arrest and investigate. You investigate and arrest. Other than that, the worst you can do is to invite him for questioning.

If he does/says anything suspicious during questioning, the police can approach the court for a search warrant, else they have to release him after questioning. Not arrest, handcuff and embarrass him. This is BS.

I guess you are so used to living in a safe society that you believe your laws and ways of doing things apply world wide. Do you realize that incident took place in Nigeria? So why expect things to play out in Nigeria the same way they do in your sane country? You mentioned about going to the court and getting search warrant.... a search warrant for what address? ... does the person even have fixed place of abode? Should the same happen in your sane country the procedure would be different... the system is in place. Is such a system in place in Nigeria? What you are saying makes a whole lot of sense and is what is expected in your sane country... but for this situation in Nigeria you are talking nonsense.

So because I wrote that, you think I live outside Nigeria. I live in Lagos. If he has no fixed address, how did they find him? Was it not at his address. You ar still capping. This is why SARS and the likes keep doing BS and get away with it.

SARS didn't start with shooting innocent people. They started by killing people caught in the act of armed robbery before moving to people suspected to be involved in armed robbery, before moving to un-armed robbers, and then people involved in smaller crimes like pickpocket, and it continued that way until they got confident enough to shoot innocent people, even on the streets.

We see the same happen to with soldiers. Check their history and you will find that the first person they whipped with koboko was probably a criminal before they moved down and are whipping anyone these days.

We should condemn abuse of power when they happen, even when we think it benefits us and is for "public good".
