Despite our food crisis, the United States and Europe are using corn as a biofuel. You think the West will be kind enough to let Nigeria make money?

Stop this baseless talk. Now we get Total Energies. What of the rest IOC, is Nigeria not making money from them.

I hope we don't borrow to fund this project.. the political class should rather cut their salaries or wages if need be to at least for once in a long while do something productive
What else?

It's high time for the southerners to wise up
Sometimes, you people should dump this your regional war and segregation mentality and do some intellectual thinking. This is a project for Nigeria to sell its gas to more European countries and cash out more than ever. This will also appreciate our naira in value. What you should fear for is whether Nigeria will utilize the cash proceeds effectively to develop the country and settle our foreign debts.

I hope it isn't SE gas..... Cos our gas is for Biafra use !!!!

But this is the reason Nigeria still exists.

So Nigeria should not sell gas?
The money should be put to use on development and benefit citizens not 1 person just like deizani pocketing 60 billion dollars from crude oil and ran away from Nigeria.
See how UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia Dey very developed you know like Nigeria to fine like that.

The crude oil they sold for how many years, was the funds utilized yet will keep taking loans, no single working refinery.
Over $600 Billion has been looted out of this country just for nothing, money that will have given Nigerians steady electricity , top notch security and robust economy just ending in some groups of corrupt Nigerians.

Diezani stole but couldn't have stolen 60 billion dollars because even Nigeria didn't make 60 billion dollars in one year.

I always tell people to try to analyse things.

UAE produces 3.7 million barrels of oil a day.

Nigeria produces 1.8 million barrels of oil a day.

UAE Population - 10 million.

Nigeria Population - 200 million.

In other words, the average UAE citizen is entitled to 37 dollars a day if oil was sold at 100 dollars a barrel and everything was profit.

In Nigeria, the average Nigerian would be entitled to 1 dollar a day if using the same parameters.

This is outside of the issue of Christian/Muslim, Northern/Southern problems that we create for ourselves.

If we don't tell ourselves the truth, we'll never get anywhere.

APC will call this achievement
.. If it they can actualize it it'll be the best investment of any administration putting Nigeria on the world map. But my issue here is the funding, how long it'll take if actually they intend to build this and the security concern in the sahel (those pipes would be vulnerable)

How about developing gas reserves to pipeline networks close to local communities where the gas is found instead of export

You must build a lot of petrochemical plants, ammonia plants c02 plants and associated chemicals from natural gas

You must have power generation plants to provide electricity for communities of 200m people before exporting gas

Germany has no oil or gas but BASF is the biggest chemicals company in the world whose Q2 revenu is bigger than all
the Zoo called Nigeria exported last year in oil and gas

But baboons are in charge of the zoo

Not feasible because you need money for all this. And again if you want to set up your private petrochemical industry the government won't stop you but stop expecting the government to set up every industries.

Both are important buy funding may be the problem. The best way may be to export has and invest the proceeds in productive ventures across the country to drive the economy, unlike what we did with crude oil - export crude, import petrol and other derivatives, pay subsidy and share the money.

If north can stop this insecurity, there's nothing like north south or east. That's just a geographical name. This is Nigeria. We just need good governance.

Nigeria is more than 200 million despite low value for life among citizen and government. I won't be surprise if Nigeria and India has little difference in population. But we are too broke to conduct a census that will reach all angle. We still have ungoverned communities in Nigeria.

I think our number is about right.

In any case, we are a poor country with a citizenry that loves to make wrong sometimes reckless decisions.

And to think that over 90% of this gas comes from Igbo territory. We must do everyhting humanly possible to cut off these parasites and declare Biafra to have our oil ad gas for ourselves alone.

Not with Igbo gas. Over 90% of the oil deposits is on Igboland. Never again. It's our gas and must be used by Igbos alone. Biafra is coming.

The north is really a parasite to this nation.
Never contributing anything, but always wants to have it all.

Nobody would mind had it been we were all in a fair, just and equitable country where all regions/ethnicities can control/own their own resources and use them to develop at their own pace! In a scenario like that, Ndigbo…or any other southern ethnicity wouldn’t mind if say 50% of their resources goes for the overall good of the country or is used for affirmative action in developing less-advantaged regions/ethnicities!

As it is now, Ndigbo are having their God-given resources raped and stolen by a medieval-minded and hateful hegemony who believe they OWN Nigeria and all resources within it, and who believe Ndigbo are inferior to them and 2nd-class citizens! Evidence of this can be seen in all facets of national economic and political life!

Google and learn befroe talking like a novice. Igboland has the biggest gas deposit in Africa. Over 90% of the gas nigeria is making mouth with today in on Igboland and they must not be allowed to use it for anything. Biafra is coming.
