Don't forget the families and loved ones of the striking lecturer and staff, they have not being paid for these period.

I am suspecting that it will still be rolled over a little more embarassed
My reason being that Adamu Adamu asked for two (or three) weeks, the two weeks will end by Wednesday (while three weeks end by next week Wednesday), hence ASUU can not suspend strike while there is no result and they are almost close to the end of the fight!
Well, you are rarely right with your speculations.

So you want student to resume and After like a month if the FG fail as they always would. Student should start returning back Home in this unsafe Country. Not possible angry

APC and PDP have failed woefully.

2023 Let Vote LP... A Vote for Peter Obi is a vote for value in Our Education System
Mammangaddafi:
Why can't they just suspend the strike for like a month while waiting for whatever Adamu Adamu is going to propose to them?

For Nigeria to work everyone must join the movement because single individual will not and cannot achieve the New Nigeria we are clamoring for.. these so called lecturers some have inbuilt wickedness in them even more tha bubu if you school in Nigeria you will understand. For we to attain the greatness we need everyone need to move towards it because na this lecturers them da use as INEC independent electoral officials that report to a collation centre and most of the magomago is in this process from poly unit to collation centre
I pray everyone work towards the new Nigeria irrespective of who emerges as the president

There was a time ASUU suspended her strike temporarily and negotiation continued.

They can suspend the strike for a month and see the reaction of FG.

FG has never been trusted. If they are, there wouldn't be strike to begin with.
There was a time they suspended the strike temporarily and negotiation continued, if things were resolved back then, will they be on strike right now? Please they should resolve all their grievances with the government before calling off this strike, I don't want to hear another strike again after this one

I thought Bola Ahmed Tinubu said on record, that Buhari commissioned him to negotiate on FG's behalf.

What's the outcome of Tinubu's intervention? Or has he started canceling all promises even before a start?

The meeting was held yesterday, but the major decision will be taking close to or after August 14.
The solidarity ASUU are getting from other unions have boosted their morale and they are counting on the society to help them pressurise FG.
However, most lecturers are already broke and hungry, i guess that's part of the sacrifice.
One senior lecturer told me early last month that we would resume soon, but he didn't get that correctly, which means only the top top ASUU members/ excos are making the decisions.
Even before the strike, one of my lecturers even suggested they endure till the end of this administration, but they eventually went on strike.
Some lecturers are enjoying the strike too, and they don't want it to end. They are facing their businesses squarely with the assurance that the backlog of their accumulated wages will be paid even if it's after 5 years.

Don't reason like you are not a Nigerian or live in Nigeria. ASUU cannot make that kind of mistake, knowing the government we have in the country. Once they suspend the strike, government reneges completely.

whitebeard:

Lol
If it's this current administration, then they don't mind the strike lingering for 10 years. The strike is not affecting them in any way.

Look at when bandits invaded Abuja, they've sent Brigade guards with sophisticated weapons and armored vehicles to go after them cos they know their lives are at stake.
But same bandits have been running riots in many parts of the country for a long time now, at best they will just send 6 months trained recruits with rusty rifles.

So FG is not under any pressure, the two days NLC strike didn't affect or move them in any way. Maybe something stronger could work, like shutting down every airports.

LoL!
FG cannot resolve anything permanently.

We all know the solution to this unending strike is for the university system to be truly autonomous.

You expect FG to throw 1.2 trillion into the university. grin

You expect a thief to give money to another thief.
