That’s close to the overall world order of greatness and in any case it goes without saying that Nigeria is number one in Africa. Being from Mozambique must be tough. |

FreeStuffsNG:But in almost all national sports festivalay, it's always two states from the south south Delta/Edo that normally interchange first and second position every year. But their athletes get sidelined when it's time to pick for international competitions. The politics is actually more against the people from these two states that the SW states |

It was not Buhari that went to represent Nigeria in Hurdles competition, Amusan and co did. Nigeria's progress is Division of Labour, everyone has a role. Stop behaving like nuisance! |

Starzo:Not really. Those two states pay more so some athletes from SW feature for them but when you go international, it no longer matters. Remember, national sports festival have more events including swimming which is less fancied in the SW but not our strong area intenationally. That is why Delta can get multiple golds in swimming but not give Nigeria gold in international competitions but Ogun can get just Gold in athletics and go on to get Nigeria gold in international events. Those two states are not getting it right in swimmming for ages dsspite dorminating it locally. There is no politics against SS. The SW also have a geography that is very conducive for sprints training and may probably naturally have more of such gene pools for short distance races just like Kenyans from certain region do better at long distance races |

FreeStuffsNG:Edo state with one of the smallest allocations in the country pays more?,how??. Pls name the athletes from the south west athletes that have won medals for Delta/Edo And when it comes to swimming, neither Delta nor Edo dominates. It's usually bayelsa. Delta/Edo athletes dominate mainly in athletics nationally but when it's time to pick for international competitions they are severally marginalised in favour of athletes from the two other major tribes occupying SW and SE. Even at that, the few that get picked still constantly deliver Check the ratio of athletes representing from each region to medals won by that region and you will clearly see who's leading Infact check that names of SW athletes that won medals in the cwg and tell me the ss state they represented in the national games.. The answer is none. The ss athletes winning medals at the cwg represented ss states at the national festivals and they're all SS indigenes. Check their names for confirmation Stop spreading false information. The Niger Delta would be better off without all of you other pests |

| Re: Nigeria Finishes 7th Overall And No. 1 In Africa At The 2022 Commonwealth Games by Starzo: 11:19am On Aug 08, 2022 |
Bullahville:Almost all the female athletes that won medals had male coaches. Na men still lead them to glory. Having females rule the country will change nothing if we end up with the likes of diezani and all past and present female politicians. They're more or less same or worse than their male counterparts. Good leadership is not by race, gender or religion. This is where most people get it wrong. You might get a good female president in the future and it won't be because she's a female. It would simply be because she capable |

They have done well kudos to Nigeria. But I still don't rate commonwealth as a game. Our goal now is to win at least 4 gold medals at 2024 Olympics. |
