These housemates were encouraged to be free when attracted to somebody. All these ships and I-like-this-and-that-person are not normal. Why is this season different compared to the rest? Many males from other seasons beat the guys here hands down in looks.

Now to the psychology aspect. When stripped of freedom, the littlest things easily get one riled up.

Many other instances happened which I didn’t watch because I’m not actively following the season. There’s the financial benefit of coming out as a ship. Many people who know they won’t win wouldn’t mind the consolation.

Now, in prison, how do you make time fly and entertain yourself while at it? You enter a ship. You and your partner will both weather the storm and handle each other’s physical needs [Daniella and Khalid]. Unlike prison, this place is full of young, moderately attractive people. Even if you don’t care to enter a relationship, time around these people will do you in, aka Bryann’s situation.

Talking a lot about who you like will force you to make a move eventually. The producers know this, hence telling them to go all out on potential love interests.

For the producers. Ships bring;

1. Money.
2. Social media engagement.
3. Publicity.
4. Entertainment for viewers.

The disadvantage of such a season is viewers won’t connect personally with housemates past what they displayed to us. That was my major gripe with Ultimate Love. You tune in and see them talk about who they like or who the other person does. It doesn’t make sense. This is Big Brother; we want to know the housemates’ likes and dislikes, how their outside life was, adventures they’ve had, and their imagined plans if they get evicted.

Examples.

1. What does Groovy do for a living? Which village is he from?

2. Is Ilebaye really Ghanaian? Yes, we know she likes Dotun.

3. So Bryann didn’t have a life outside before coming to Big Brother? His team revealed he’s a singer. How did he start, what are his plans?
