I know that I never appreciated Mercy Eke while she was on this show, but watching the three seasons after her season, has made me have a deeper appreciation for how much balance she provided herself while in that house.

A lot of times, people, especially women, are unable to balance their relationships with their friendships. Once they get man, they forget all of the friends they had prior to that man, and invest all their energy in their relationship with that man.

That is perhaps why when there is a break in their relationship with that man, permanent or temporary, they never know what to do with themselves.

Mercy knew how to balance herself. Her entire game was not solely rooted in whatever she was doing with Ike, she found time to enjoy the companies of Mike and Omashola, and she also had her Diane in her corner.

Some of these women this season, have already made the mistake of sacrificing platonic friendships on the altar of romantic interests. So far, it has not played out well for some of them, and we may find more victims as the show progresses.
