Dearlord:Lol you're like your president not aware. The gulf of guinea and Nigerian waters in particular were some of the most dangerous waters for kidnappings and cargo theft. Its been an issue for years. Here's a map from 2020 the economist published. After all these years sea piracy no longer profitable interesting.

Jennifer663:There's nothing surprising here, most of the pirate attacking our waters are now big boys in town, and political godfathers, the likes of tompolo, ateke tom, asari etc they are now made, they are also the ones receiving contracts to protect the water way. Secondly, those still in the water are working hand in hand with the navy. Instead of fighting each other, they compensate the navy and everyone go their separate ways. |
