Duro Onabule Dies At 83 by Nemere2020(op): 1:21am On Aug 17, 2022

Duro Onabule, Veteran journalist and Chief Press Secretary of former Military President Ibrahim Babangida had died at the age of 83.

The news of his death filtered into the air through Chief Eric Teniola who is close to some members of his family.

The cause of his death is not known as he was said to be hale and hearty few days ago.

Duro Onabule was the National Editor of National Concord from 1984 to 1985 and later became Chief Press Secretary to President Ibrahim Babangida.

Onabule was the presidential spokesman for most of the Babangida administration when the government punished newspaper and magazine publishers with temporary proscription to make them conform to the code of conduct set up by the administration.

This guy was the one defending Babangida through those torrid years of "letter bombs" and "military plane crashes". He was so hated for this you would think he was part of the "plannings".

Media mogul that cash out ,...his house at omole estate is a testement that the present youth are not the originators of yahoo.

Onabule was a media Yahoo yahoo... even if ibb kill,he will find way to justify it,..till date he still insist the ibb SAP,was the best the country ever had...

So when I see people getting angry with omatseye I laughed,..if omatseye can insult Awolowo wife just because he host gbenga Daniel against Tinubu candidate,then we'll realize that media men are nothing but just some hungry human being with big grammar

His articles were very interesting to read and even though he was yoruba, he was a firm believer in equity for the East. Very pen-friendly to the Igbos.
