No more meetings.

The only way to solve this strike issue is for government to allow universities to be autonomous and to set fees as high as they want to.

That way they can make enough money to pay lecturers what they want and to pay for any new facilities, and equipment and suchlike.

Also, at the end of the day, we need more money in things like tetfund
Government has a fundamental duty to secure her people, educate her ppl, guide the health of her ppl, among others...

So if it goes quite high, the ppl will b mostly illiterate and human capacity will reduce and den economy will crumble

Thank God that good sense and patriotism has started setting in.

FG took ASUU and all of them to the court of public opinion and Nigerians got bewildered on realising the cost implication of the 2009 agreement is N1.1 trillion shocked
Where will FG get N1.1 trillion from that national budget? FG should stop creating new universities abeg.

FG , ASUU, NASU, SSANU and all the stakeholders must meet and agree on realistic way forward.
May God bless Nigeria for ever!

I hope everything would be resolved before next month as a lot of time has been wasted already.

So only Profs and Readers will go back to classes
SSANU and NASU are unions for non-academic staff. ASUU is for academic staff ranging from graduate assistant to professor.

It's appalling and disappointing to note that JAC, SSANU and NASU, are suspending their strike based on mere promises from FG.

I can assure them that non of the promises in their new agreement will be honoured by the FG.

I give them only 2 months to return back to the strike.
Didn't FG pay ASUU EAA during this strike?
It took two weeks before ASUU acknowledged it and even boasted that the payment just strengthened their resolve.
Majority of the students are already fed up and given up at the same time.
Very soon everyone will stop talking about ASUU, in fact i don't see the government calling for any meeting any time soon.

NO!!!!!! This would never work.

This would mean denying a certain class of people the right to tertiary education.

Sinkhole NASU and SSANU have called off!

Accept what FG offers and negotiate with a new government by next year, besides whatever you agree with this FG, likely next Govenment will renege on it or refuse to bow to it. So what’s the point insisting on getting most of everything with this government ?

Three years of admission sets are piling up!

ASUU shouldn’t let this strike ENTER September.
Then the strike will continue with another government and the circle continues right?

FG will say there's no money but till today we don't know what they have been doing with Abacha loots, till today we don't know what happened to the recovered money from whistle blowing.

Someone stole #86b and nothing has been done about it,you think ASUU is a mumu , NASS have refuse to cut their budget, all they do is go on recess , come back and start shouting Say aye or nay.

You think ASUU is not seeing this? Of course they are, this is not the first time they are going on strike under this government.

“If we agree on that, therefore, the lectures we should have given [to students] for 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 [sessions], should be allowed to go so we start a new session, 2022/2023, in September,” Professor Osodeke said

Greedy lecturers

Hope.you are aware even if.you allocate an extra 200 billion Naira it woukd not satisfy ASUU?

If ASUU feels government isn't doing enough, there are lots of private universities for them to migrate to.

Make them go teach the students na. Since they don’t want to pay ASUU what’s owed to them, strike continues.

The. Money doesn't have. To come from anywhere... The government only needs to fight inflation aand declining exchange rate values....

If the naira becomes stronger again.. prices of stuffs Weill fall aand ASUU won't demand salary increase...

The only person holding the naira from appreciating much is dangote.... If he succeeds, Naija will succeed... Always remember him in ur prayers
