Please can anyone help me solve this math problem it's for my sister and she's submitting it tomorrow I've tried every method I know but I couldn't get the answer it's a number to words question
1) 2 is added to twice a certain number and the sum is doubled. The result is 10 less than 5 times the original number. Find the original number
2) I add 12 to a number and then double their sum. The result is one and a half times what I get when I double the original number and add 12. find the number
There where 3 questions but I managed to solve one using simultaneous equations but these ones are complicated

2) 2(12 + y) = 3/2(2y + 12)

Turn it to equation, then solve simultaneously.

The number is x
1) 2(2 + 2X)= 5X-10
4+4X=5X-10
X= 14 show full step ooo...so she doesnt lose marks

2) (12+X) double the sum 2(12+X)
2(12+X)= (2X +12)3/2
2(24+2X)= 3 (2X +12)
48+4X=6X+36
6X-4X=48-36
X=12/2
X=6

Collect like terms one side each
