It’s always a colourful and intriguing annual event in this this historical town called Abagana in Njikoka LGA.
The new yam festival also known as ‘iwaa ji ofuu’ is that time of the year when locals after having a bountiful yam harvest celebrate and thank the gods of the harvest. This year’s festival was also marked with a fitness walk from the LGA secretariat.
I visited my maternal home to see what’s cooking for me. Here are pics of delicacy.

No its not an incantation.

Its a medley eulogizing Abagana - an ancient warrior city now in present day Njikoka Local Government in Anambra.
