Which Should Be Cheaper? Locally Produced Goods Or Imported Goods? by BluntCrazeMan(op): 2:58pm On Aug 29, 2022
Reno said that the real reason why local producers went bankrupt and got out of business was because Peter Obi was importing the same commodities which the local producers were producing, but the thing that happened was that Peter Obi was selling at a cheaper price.
..
Hmmmm.
Something is very wrong here.!!
..
Which one should be cheaper in the real sense??
Is it the imported Commodity? or the Locally Produced Commodity??
..

THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA HAS BEEN ENCOURAGING FREE-MARKET VALUES THROUGH GLOBAL COMMERCIAL AGREEMENTS, SINCE WHEN BILL CLINTON WAS U.S PRESIDENT, SIMPLY BECAUSE THE COST OF PRODUCTION LOCALLY IS MORE EXPENSIVE IN THE U.S THAN IN ASIAN COUNTRIES. HENCE, A GOOD PERCENTAGE OF U.S COMPANIES MOVED TO SOUTH KOREA, JAPAN, CHINA... OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES TO PRODUCE AND THEN IMPORT IT BACK INTO THE COUNTRY.

WHAT ALL THIS GRAMMAR MEANS IS, IT DEPENDS ON YOUR ENVIRONMENT.

SO, HOW DO WE ANALIZE THESE ASIAN COUNTRIES. WERE THEY ABLE TO DEVELOP BY DEPENDING ON IMPORTATION OR BY PRODUCING LOCALLY?

It could be both ways. Cost of manpower. Eg a Nike produced in China and sold on the USA is cheaper than the Nike produced in the USA

It depends on the commodity you are importing. Some products are cheaper when imported compared to local production due to the availability of raw materials.
