The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu on Monday confirmed the return of former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau to the party.
The ceremony to receive Shekarau back from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the PDP was held in Kano State, Naija News reports.

Shekarau defected along with thousands of his fans and supporters after a fallout with the NNPP leader and presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The former Kano Governor was also presented with his PDP membership card at the ceremony on Monday which was attended by PDP National Leaders.

Confirming the development, the PDP National Chairman took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter where shared pictures of the political event with a caption; “Today we received H.E Ibrahim Shekarau, former Governor of Kano state to PDP at his residence in Kano.”

Kwankwaso Humiliated Me
Prior to the official defection, former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau had revealed the reason for dumping the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The senator, while speaking to a crowd at the Kano Foundation office along BUK Road, accused the presidential candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso of not only betraying him, but humiliating him.

Shekarau disclosed that during his brief stay in the NNPP, he was the only one given a senatorial form while leaving his teeming supporters to wallow in destitution.

Big fish for PDP in Kano. Anything to remove that evil party called APC is welcome by me.

APC did well, they came in 2015 and sent us back to 1983. Wasted our 8yrs...

Obi or No elections in 2023

Am not seeing APC winning 2023 election. If not for Peter Obi that has reduced PDP votes, Atiku would have just win before the election start

Don't deceive yourself. It can't be won in the north because a northerner is also contesting. So the election will be won everywhere

What exactly is APC planing? It's so clear that 95.8% of us don't want them back, I see it as insult for APC to contests for the next presidential election after all what they have done to our country.
All I know for now is Obi.
