Obasanjo’s Presence At Wike-obi’s London Talks Rattles Tinubu’s Camp by 0bjpmb(op): 12:50am On Aug 30, 2022

Loyalists of the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, yesterday, expressed displeasure over the presence of former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at the London meeting Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his allies had with presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, despite being reportedly committed to their cause.

In a related development, the Obi-Datti Media Office, yesterday, dismissed as jaundiced, remarks made by Mr. Dele Alake, a spokesman of the APC presidential candidate, to the effect that Peter Obi had nothing to show for his eight years as governor of Anambra State.

This came on a day Governor Wike said he will disclose his preferred presidential candidate, ahead of the 2023 elections soon.

It will be recalled that Governor Wike and his allies met with Obasanjo and Obi on the need to form an alliance ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Similarly, Tinubu and some of his allies had met with the former President at his Ota residence to seek Obasanjo’s blessing and support, last week.

However, Obasanjo denied reports that he endorsed Tinubu during the visit of the APC presidential candidate.

His Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, refuted statements from supporters of Tinubu, clarifying that the discussion during the visit was “more brotherly than political.”

Chief Obasanjo’s aide further said the former President had neither agreed nor disapproved of Tinubu’s ‘request.

A source familiar with the London meetings told Vanguard that the Tinubu camp is not happy that Obasanjo was at the parley Wike had with Obi in London.

It was further gathered that Obasanjo’s presence at the meeting was at the instance of Obi.

The source said: “First, it was the Wike camp that leaked the London meeting with Obasanjo and Obi, and secondly, it was because of Peter Obi that Obasanjo was present at the meeting with the Wike camp.

“The Wike camp did not want the story leaked by someone else and that informed their decision to leak the story and picture that they met with Obasanjo and Obi.

“Obasanjo was at the London meeting at the instance of Obi. The Wike camp wanted to meet Peter Obi but Obi requested that Obasanjo should be present before the meeting could hold.

“The Tinubu people were not happy that Baba (Obasanjo) was there (London) because they felt Baba had committed himself when they met with him in Ota. They felt Baba was already committed to them (Tinubu’s camp) and so when he (Obasanjo) met with Wike, alongside Obi, the Tinubu camp was not happy that he was part of the London meeting with Wike and Obi.”

Baba Obj was the President when Atiku was his Vice, Tinubu was Governor of Lagos State and Obi was Governor of Anambra State.

Don’t think there’s any Nigerian that knows these 3 men better than Obj and if Baba as a Nationalist is OBIdient, Nigerians must fall in line.

Also a Nigeria that has Federal Character enshrined in its constitution, has made it almost compulsory that the 2023 Presidency heads to the SE.

When OBJ was the president Atiku was the VP. Tinubu was an opposition governor while Obi was a governor in a party in support of the ruling party!

OBJ did witheld Lagos state LG funds for months yet in the end Lagos still faired better till they won!

The IGR of Lagos today is greater that that of the whole SE region!

If not for Stockholm syndrome, what else will make a person compare Obi to Atiku or Tinubu.
Someone left office and till date refused salaries, pensions, gratuity, houses built for governors etc till date, no corruption charges and still goes ahead living his frugal lifestyle, you suddenly look at him and tried to compare him to Atiku and Tinubu.
How else do you save a dwindling economy if not to suppress crime, stop budget inflation, employ capable hands that can actually do the work.
You want to go from APC to APC, same group, same people who are killing Nigeria,if they meant well for you, they will at least look inward and find someone they can at least place to see if they can salvage anything but rather they have you the worst and arrogant and you are here jumping up and down. It’s has to be a mental problem…
You cannot say you love Nigeria and hand it over to someone you cannot believe in(Osibanjo).
Open your eyes and stop fanning your oppressors
Note: It does not matter where the President comes from, Buhari is the President and the north is seeing the worst in it all, vote who can spend our money wisely please, they are borrowing money on your behalf and squandering it. Be wise for once

He should bury his head in shame as he is one of those who put the country in the current rot. Somebody ask him and Atiku where the 16B for power went. If Obi is truly genuine and his intentions match up with his rhetoric then he should steer clear of elements like Obasanjo

Over the last couple of months, rather than focus on promoting their candidate, they’ve been focusing on their opponents; especially the LP candidate.

Problem is Buhari’s poor performance has made it very difficult for them to campaign based on performance of the party so they are promoting his performance as governor donkey years ago…. Which isn’t a lot!
