Dear Compatriots, Fellow Nigerians I’m also sure you are aware of a trending video on the internet in which the bulwark of our Youths are singing rejection songs of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Here is how the song goes, “Emilokan, Emilokan, Baba wey no well, e dey shout Emilokan

“Hands dey shake, Legs dey shake, Baba wey no well, e dey shout Emilokan”.

This lyrical portrayal of the unhealthy state of the person of Tinubu and his being foisted on the people as a presidential candidate of the ruling APC, nonetheless, is tantamount to a tactical blunder.

Prior to his wearing his current garb of presidential candidate of the APC, Tinubu for a long time enjoyed the normenclature of being addressed as the sole National Leader of the APC. This was most fallacious in that it was a reckless cornering to oneself of a title which the National Chairmen of the parties which were collapsed into APC also had moral right to. Chief Bisi Akande National Chairman of the ACN (Action Congress of Nigeria), Dr Ogbonnanya Onu, National Chairman of the ANPP (All Nigeria Peoples Party); my Boss, Prince Tony Momoh, National Chairman of the CPC (Congress for Progressive Change). All of them including the Senator Rochas Okorocha became known as Legacy Chairman and automatic national leaders of the APC. Tinubu because of his active role in the merger and subsequent expansion of the APC became one of the national leaders and not a sole National Leader.

Let’s fast forward folks, What is Emilokan? I hear it’s a word in Yoruba Language which means, “it is my turn”. Turn to do what? I ask. If this now popular campaign slogan is asserting that it is the turn of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to aspire to become president of Nigeria, I state without mincing words that it is a most selfish move on the part of the Candidate and a tactical blunder on the part APC.

I’m the build up to the APC Presidential primaries which produced Tinubu, I counselled that APC should field the current Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, GCON but Tinubu goaded by Emilokan mindset muzzled everyone to clinch the ticket.
Well the situation is still not irredeemably bad, let Tinubu hand over the ticket to Osinbajo or any other person that the APC National Secretariat may choose and. go home with a respectable name of an elder Statesman that he ought to try to be at this stage in his life and Political career.

Tinubu:s attempt to try to govern Nigeria given his health condition and given the mood of the Nation is a despicable affront on our national mentality.

I find it very disappointing that the Wife of the APC candidate Senator Oluremi Tinubu and their cronies are not prevailing on him to seek medicare instead of seeking to become President of Nigeria.

Fellow Nigerians, even President Muhammadu Buhari that we are currently managing as our president is stronger than the person seeking to take over from him.

This nation is seriously asking to be fixed and we can I’ll afford a staggering president again. It’s a High time we took our country back. Let us not be brainwashed with paltry sums any longer. We must be discerning in choosing the next Chief occupier of Aso Rock as 2023 beckons.
