kingBolton:One video I watched was Bakayokoesque (too many loose dribbles through the middle of midfield) but I saw highlights of all his touches against Leicester in Europa and he looked much better. We will see if and when he lands |

Griffon:That's what I learnt but Psv don't want to sell both him and Gakpo this window. Since Eredivisie's window has closed they can't get replacement registered. |

Kloppo:Blowing the final whistle is like every other decion the ref takes, and blow for. The VAR box is there for the ref to asses his decision and change his mind if necessary. Why does it feel like I'm explaining football to a 15years old? |

Ibime:I don't think Leonardo will want to buy players and be going for obscure mediocre Bundesliga players. Kehrer and Diallo. I doubt Leonardo will know about those guys if not for Tuchel recommendations Kehrer has now found his level |

Unlimited22:Are u saying Nick pope and Joelinton wasted as much as 3 mins ? The ref no try at all, he should’ve ended the match the moment the ball was within Loserpool’s half and they wanted to start the attack moves . Anyways sha, na only him know the interest he has in the game other than to perform his officiating duties

BlueRayDick:We definitely need more accurate time-keeping in soccer. It’s an area where the 4th official would be useful in- he/she should, among other things, keep track of the minutes lost due to stoppages for injuries and/or time-wasting |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 6:16am On Sep 01, 2022 |
PDPGuy:Surely we do. It’s unfair for refs to always refer to stuff like “ Minimum of 4 minutes “ , which leaves them enough time to decide the outcome of a match . It makes them centre of attraction and the final outcome of games is always about them and them alone. |

Fireside 4-2-2-2 / 3-5-2 / 3-4-3 Good Ideas wrong time If you have been keen on chelsea formations in recent games, you'd discern base formations being played by chelsea. The said formations have been interchanged between games to an extend that people have been mistaking roles played by players during games. Following two consective losses against lower table opponents, the argument amongst chelsea fans has been whether its the formation , the tactics or the players that are to blame. The truth is, all of this things are to blame. Be it 4-2-2-2 Or 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, These formations are mostly good ideas but deployed in a wrong way and a wrong time. With the current profile of players chelsea has, I'd say the 4-2-2-2 Could bring the best of the chelsea fast paced attacking unit of Sterling, Broja & maybe Havertz because of the spaces it opens upfront. It could also give players like Pulisic and Mount room to flourish in supportive roles behind them. For creative players, it gives them room to practice their wizardry in most one vs one senarios created through out. But... The challenge with this formation is it needs two outright ball winning midfielders as I had pointed before in an ealier post. Having people like Jorginho, Gallagher and even Kovacic just infront of the defensive line is comical and tragic. This guys have specialities in other aspect of midfield but not all out defensive duties. People hate it but the truth is, the only almost like to like replacement we have for Ngolo is Gallagher. And its only him, Kante and Ampadu in the current squad that can play this role. James and Koulibaly can also slot in this role seamlessly, but the deficiency in defence may never allow that. But its not just been about the 4-2-2-2 Alone. Its also been about how we have been using it. The effectiveness of this formation is when a team is playing fast, precise passes and the fullback interchanges to create depth and overloads in wing areas. The complete opposite of how we have been playing. 3-4-3 is only effective if sterling is given free role upfront to run wings and cut inside and score like the first Leicester goal. Otherwise it renders useless essence of his purchase. With the current player profile, 3-5-2 is however what we need to deploy consistently now that both Gallagher and Kante are sceptible to cards and Injuries. Disaster with this formation is having Mount, RLC and either of J5 or Kovacic in that midfield 3 besides the wingbacks. RLC unless deployed as a false wingback, is too lazy in both defensive phase and attacking face as his work rate and positioning plus his speed in releasing the ball and passing creates formation cracks everytime he looses balls or dribbled past. Challenge for Tuchel now is finding team integration and cohesion flow. Find the right formation, right players, right motivation. Currently Chelsea has been all over with our style of play Most importantly all these players must stand up and be counted. The way most of them have been playing like sissies has been disgusting. ️@ChelseaAnalysis |

BlueMann:E be like nah 3 times we go hear "here we go" today “Chelsea are looking to try and sign both Edson Alvarez and Ibrahim Sangare. It would require though, both Billy Gilmour (permanent) and Conor Gallagher (likely loan) both to leave. Seems unlikely at this stage.” (RJPJournalism) |

Chelsea's owners are reluctant to sanction Billy Gilmour's proposed permanent move to Brighton due to the club's midfield injury problems. Thomas Tuchel is open to letting Billy Gilmour leave Chelsea on Deadline Day. Gilmour remains hopeful that the ownership can be persuaded to soften their stance. Liam Twomey - The Athletic @CFC_ChelseaFC

Ibime:I share the same sentiment, what we needed last season was a cover in middle(Aurélien Tchouameni) would have been ideal and back up for both the wing backs but no lakaka is a must buy. This season taking bissouma + pogba that's after strengthening with Sterling and aligning the defense would have been better. Let me wait till season ends if it will top Marina's 2017 signings ( drinkwater, bakayoko etc) |
