Do British people also give preference to the male child while choosing the heir?
If king Charles has an older sister,will she be queen or it will be skipped?

The initial plan was for her to be named princess consort rather than Queen consort but some months ago they announced a change and Camilla will be Queen consort.

I expect that there might be some push back from the section of British society who never accepted her though.

Preference for a male child (male primogeniture) was the order of the day until about a decade ago when the laws changed. Now any first born child of the monarch male or female can succeed the monarch.

I don't agree with Death always being a period of mourning. We're all going to die regardless so should you be fortunate to live a full life to the ripe old age of 96 then I'm sorry there's nothing like mourning. It's worth celebrating

I reserve mourning for people that died in young and unfortunate circumstances
