Rubbish, you people have been paid to write against right things. We didn't give up on ASUU, we give up on useless government officials that pay people like you to post rubbish on social media. Our education is disgusting but yet I didn't see you post anything about the useless cattle ranch billions was disbursed for in katsina. NONSENSE!

FullBlastLight:
The photo here will convince you the extent at which some folks have utterly given up on ASUU.

Or, shldn't we believe the picture is saying a lot, satirically?

A picture, they say, is worth a thousand words.

Find the picture below and feel mighty free to share your own thought about it.

From my opinion, Nigeria needs to reduce the number of universities by 70%. We need to focus on skills training, focus on making the elementary and secondary schools more qualitative education.

We are currently wasting money and running in cycles by churning out graduates that are unemployable. Craziness is doing the same thing everytime with no change or meaningful result.

It will favor Nigeria to close down schools as we know it, and use those professors to teach secondary school students, but make about 75% of the same pay.

The focus needs to be on skills development after a solid elementary and secondary education. And the fg, sg, or lg, shouldn't do skills training alone, they should encourage citizens to get accredited, and the accreditation should be transparent and fair; it shouldn't turn to rocket science due to corruption, like all other projects in Nigeria.

Skills training like welding, building sciences, building inspections, health inspections, sanitation inspection, nursing, IT, oil rig understanding and inspections, pipe fitters, safety trainings, plumbing, electrical, electronics, cyber, hair care, skin care, automobiles, aircraft maintenance, soil inspections and testing, agriculture, etc

The more a person learns, the better understanding and growth for that person.

The current university dorms and administrative areas, should be converted to nursing places, and some as skill training centers. With a years planning, something efficient can be thought of, and prepared for them to be used. Also have math centers there too, and also encourage online learning.

if a person is over 20years, he/she will go to adult eeducation.

We have to look at developed countries blue print and copy it word for word if need be.

Education in Nigeria has been a wash since 1990. No quality all quantity. How can it not be true, almost all major and even minor projects in Nigeria, will have a foreigner that leads it and even sometimes do it all. So, we have a problem. Am not saying foreigners cannot work on our projects, am saying, the lack of quality and know how is mostly why they are there.

I will say, let us have a 500 student capacity university, about 10 of them nation wide, for the next 10 years. An example, will be say University of Lagos, can be the university of material science or engineering or agriculture or medicine, etc. All the departments there, should be in line with the school. No more this course and that course and all that. The current system breeds corruption and incompetence. Only A students with great maths and science intrest, should be students there. Don't go and pack log of woods in the name of students, and go and fill a school. Let others, go to skills training. And do online classes, or travel abroad for university degrees. But try and make the skills training that many can get, very qualitative. We have to have the best rail road mechanics, the best cyber techs, the best mechanics, the best builders, etc. Many will be working while learning. Building Nigeria while learning, instead of wasting away. We have to have the whole world know that our skilled techs are the best. They would build Nigeria, and even help train and build the rest of Africa and the world. In 10 to 20 years, we can see the experiment clearly. The current experiment is an audio wash.

I have more to say, but I will stop here for now.

It's not only children of politicians schooling abroad. So many ASUU members also have children abroad and and children of many people in private sector.

Ironically they still form a good percentage of youths clamoring for an APC candidate to return to power after showing negligence and disdain to the plight of the Nigerian youth albeit student, even APC had brought Obi Nigerian youths should never have given them a look in, the Chinese revolution was led by students here we are in Nigeria where the so called students care less and praises the oppressors in appreciation of abandoning them. If they want to go back to school the strike won't last One week as Lekki will be a joke. As for some hmmm private University is a goal.

Some of them are fighting people who want to liberate them from slavery.

Because of religion and ethnicity. How on earth can one think that Tinubu and APC have something good to offer after seven years of disaster

Trained professors should be downgraded and made to teach secondary school students?
Becoming a professor looks like a kid's play to you?
I don't get it.

All hope has been lost regarding ASUU calling off the strike anytime soon, both sides are still refusing to reach an amicable agreement, as you can not be taken someone to court, if you genuinely want to settle with such a person.

I just pity our students and our education sector in this country.

It's not about downgrading, is about upgrading. They should use that experience in strengthening our secondary school education. I think they should still be paid 75% of what they currently earn. Right now, the universities are thrash, as in not even qualified to be a land fill, because it will contaminate it. Nothing to write home about. Even without ASUU strike, the universities are thrash.

So, let's try something different. We don't have time to mess around any longer. Nigeria currently has no foundation of anything good. So, it's time to strategize.

Germany did something similar back in the day, until they redid their universities. Cuba did something similar.

We have to be the best in anything clothing, basic health care, electricity, computer, material sciences, buildings and other infrastructure, and mechanics of all sorts. Our current university papers alone cannot help us with that now.

My idea is that, close down the normal everybody come to uni, and use most of that money to solidify the 10 to 20years old Nigerians, so that they can be able to pass waec even at ss1 or ss2; while also making it possible for those above that age, to become experts in their interests. The strategy is more than that, am just summarizing for you.

The matter goes beyond partisan politics ASUU has been striking during the entire era of PDP governments.
