They do, but not as often as they mention the US. In Where Stars Land, the female lead's mother was in Nigeria if I remember correctly. They mention other Asian Countries like China, Japan, Singapore, etc.

Well, I will not say they only talk about the US but they mostly do and I will not say I am sure why but I think it has something to do with them knowing more about the US or feeling the US is more "superior" for lack of a better word. It also helps that the two countries are allies.

Even US citizens in Korea are in a way treated better that other nationals just because of that notion.

Another thing with Korea is that sometimes, when they try to incorporate other cultures, religion and stuff like that in their movies or series, they do it poorly and get backlash so they just shy away from it in general.
