Shma2022:why would I want to keep replying someone who dont want to be educated? A person who can sit an say financial math which comes from Applied mathematics is more complex to the very broad course that it come from ![]() Obviously you've not faced Applied mathematics as a course before That person is only mad ![]() |

Just40:Dude, financial engineering is a whole f*ckin course( it was a unit in my acturial science course. ) Applied maths is just basic maths applied in specific fields. Financial engineering is a f*cking complex course as it draws on tools from both spectrum of complex units, Applied maths not being exception. Don't be this dense!!! And yes, pure maths is the root of applied maths, applied & pure maths stretches it's link to financial engineering financial engineering uses pure maths and apply it in solving financial technicalities. Pure maths< Applied maths< financial eng |

Shma2022:you seem to argue for argument sake. All the calculation in financial engineering was developed in Applied mathematics. Know this and go to bed Good luck on that. |

Just40:No one disputed that. I even highlighted that in my previous submission. On complexity, Only Ph.D. holders of applied maths are exceptional. My course for instance: I applied stats, probabilities, algorithms etc to estimate losses, risks, and profits in organizations. That is BASIC MATHS BEING APPLIED( APPLIED MATHS) I know your brain is tired already. You've just been copying and pasting things you google on the internet. Next time don't argue things you have zero clue on. |

Shma2022:you not just PhD holders but even masters and bachelor holders of Applied Mathematics do exception work. If you know that, then why are you here arguing? Or you think applied mathematics is just about that small aspect you see in finance that you use to do your profit and loss analysis? Which is just basic Or you think the reading aspect of financial engineering can hold water? I'll tell you that it's just close to economics. Everything you do in financial engineering is just a topic or a sub topic in Applied mathematics You'll do scientific computing in numerical analysis, under statistics and probability you have inferential and deferential stat, financial maths, Then you have mathematical finance which has hedging, algorithmic trading, derivative pricing, portfolio optimization and etc. At Analysis you have honours analysis and honours complex variables Why will I have to copy something I've done? |

Just40:Seems like We're not reading in the same book. Why am I saying applied maths is inferior to financial engineering in complexity? 1. If you deeply know basic maths & unalysis, you already have the knowledge to solve any mathematical related problem. Just like I had told you about data structure and algorithm in developing websites and apps --- if you understand the fundamentals of coding & data structure and algorithm, you can apply those skills in developing websites and games. Those are fundamental skills for any person wishing to advance in programming level. == Financial engineering has Applied maths & many more units -- meaning, Applied maths is just a substrata of everything. == for you to be a graduate of Financial engineering, you need to know both applied maths, programming, IT, finance, economics, Accounting, ...etc 2. Applied maths is complex pure math. You need to understand pure maths (functional analysis, advanced linear algebra, calculus...) first then blend it with the field you major in: that can be actuarial science or engineering or computer science, etc and everything will be easier. 3. People like us didn't do applied maths as a course. If you're doing it as a degree course; then you're not helping yourself. Unless you want to specialize in programming thereafter or be a teacher. And yes, I will agree if you're doing it as a course, then you'll have to sweat more than the guy in FE. Any ph.D math-related course is for the chosen few. 90% of statisticians from masters level drop out of Ph.D. classes. The thesis is not for the faint-hearted. |

Kazikazi:This happens in Nigeria annually. It's nothing new. These naturalised Nigerians are having the time of their lives in Nigeria. Many of them discovered that the wealth they could build in three years in Nigeria, they would never generate in a hundred years in their own country. Nigeria is still a virgin land for investment opportunities. |

gallivant:Hahahaha Another bullshit by the name of statistics. Let me leave TZ,let me talk about south sudan.... From your fake stats,it show only 1% of the population of south sudan has access to power. Can u believe that? Juba has more a half a million folks, the entire nation has about 12m 10% of 12m is 1.2m,, Juba alone got 5% of SS population. And almost all folks in juba has acces to electricity, and we have other towns with folks having access to power. But why in your stats it shows only 1% of SS population has access to power? Another half baked, unresearched report coming from shitholes. |

Few months back Lagos free zone annouced that BSF, a German chemical company would be expanding 3 folds. They initially had a standard factory on 30,000sm of land but would be building another on 90,000 making their total 120000. I month later the factory is about to go up and I have pictures.

gallivant:Kenya is lower..I expect we now have 13 million households..yet we only have 8.5 metered customers...even if some households share..we have about 2 million business premises...I expect Kenya connectivity is less than 70 percent.. therefore we need to continue accelerating connection...from a million year we have gone down to less than 0.5m per year..we have to final push.. complete all the last mile. The good thing in Kenya our solar adoption..small home systems..is best in the world...so few people really don't have clean lighting energy... Clean cooking energy is something depressing.New gov has to continue working on access and now especially the cost..the almost 50 percent fuel adjustment mean we have to turn off corruptly entered thermal ppps..focus on geothermal...a sweatpot |
