"Trying to look weak" as you claimed in your post, to a country that you want to resound in their minds that you are superior to them, is that a good military strategy Russia shouldn't be trying to look weak to Ukraine, this should have been the time to remind Ukraine and other world powers that Russia is far ahead in military capabilities.
