#Just_In: We Are Not The Ones They Are Talking To - ASUU President Speaks On NUC's Resumption Order

President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof Emmanuel Osedeke has reacted to the directive by the Ministry of Education through the Nigeria Universities Commission, asking all Vice Chancellors and striking lecturers to resume immediately.

He sarcastically told the VANGUARD when he was contacted, that his members are not holding the keys to the campuses.

Comrade Osedeke also pointed out that the Ministry should stop the trick of distractions and allow both of them settle the case in court since it was the government who dragged them to court in the place.

Sometimes retreating in war is not weakness but wisdom, It keeps you alive to fight another day, I mean imagine 7 months and students are still at home, they'll claim they care about the students but in action I don't think they do....

It's clear Bubu's govt doesn't prioritize Education, taking it to court showed how clueless they actually are and making useless order as if we're in a military regime just crowns their ignorance in the educational sector...

I feel ASUU should have known when to call of the strike for the sake of the students, with a new and reasonable govt that prioritizes Education, they can get what they actually want, but with this useless and corrupt govt they might just be fighting a lost battle, with the court ruling being the first of many....

ASUU should also prod themselves to start churning out solutions to the problems in this country. Not only struggling for allowances. Ideas are no longer needed to stay in the shelves of journals. We need practicable and visible solutions that can be implemented within the communities surrounding the universities and then we scale up from there. Petroleum engineers and no refinery yet. Electrical engineers and no electricity yet. We are dire times. We have to move fast.

They design a system where if "accused" they are the judge, the jury and executioner. If you ever believe you will have justice in this system, then I have an iPhone 14 to sell to you for 5k.
