There are those who watch matches and have good memory and there are donstans. I can even tell you that Benitez almost immediately dropped Mikel for a young Oriol Romeo, and if not for an ACL suffered by Romeo, Mikel would have been sent to the Development squad cos even Ramires and David Luiz who are not DMs were higher in Benitez pecking order.

Mikel only started 7 league games for Benitez. Prove me wrong. Here's a sneak peak. Numbers on the right are minute he was subbed in. Other times he was benched or not selected in the squad entirely

Benitez played 24 EPL games, Mikel was out for 10 games due to injury and suspension, that’s 14 games left, out of that 14, Mikel started half of them which is 7 and played as subs on some few.
