Honestly, the only bigger threat to US in Europe after Russia is a strong and independent Germany. They will never allow it. That is why they have a huge military base there. Sometimes I feel Putin is baiting them into making this happen.

If you are looking for a Nation thay uses power without moral principles, USA is number one. The foundation of the country itself is immoral, dispossessing redo Indians and massacring them. Also, their history of invasions and atrocities in other countries. The only thing is that they have succeeded in enriching themselves and their citizens and prefer to deceive their citizens rather than coerce them. Meanwhile, the greatest evils perpetrated in history have always been under the excuse of fighting evil.

Your last paragraph is not that true though... At some point in history, the Arab world controlled and developed science way before science was generally accepted in Europe.

I don't support Nigerian taking cro from any country whether it's the US or china. My point is that every nation should be allowed to determine its own destiny. The US criticises when you are not their ally nd turns away when you are acting according to their design. Acting like this is not sustainable and even American politicians recognise that their decline is inevitable. I was never a fan of Russia but I respect the capacity of the country to dust itself up after the collapse of the USSR into one of the fastest growing economies in the world without bowing to the west. China is another country succeeding without bowing to the west. There are American allies worse than these countries in terms of human rights. Lol... you can see the evidence in words like Algebra, Alcohol, Alkaline etc. The number system we use today was imported to the west through the Arabs and thats why its know as indo-Arabic numerical system. imagine a country of warriors, from the time of the holy roman empire, to the german empire. A country that has produced some badass leaders like bismarck and hitler,now playing boy boy to the usa. It is pathetic,the case of japan is even worse. Germany has the economy.the population,the techniques,the clout etc, to be a true superpower. I dont know what is wrong with them.

There were other leaders in the old Germany and Japan before Hitler and emperor Hirohito. Germany developed rapidly under Otto Von Bismarck and became a strong European power at the beginning of the 20th century. Japan was isolated for centuries with the Meiji dynasty ruling Samurai style. After a war with British they realises how under-equipped they were and started to modernise their country. This is what I am talking about not second world war.

It would have made sense for Russia to invade with weapons of mass destruction as excuse than protection of Rus language speakers. They even armed separatists and encourage them to expand territory within Ukraine. That's far from what US and allies did to those nations you are mentioning.
