There r countless reasons to develop own weapons

1. To avoid blackmail (economic, socio-political ), Western countries do it regularly
2. To avoid losing geopolitical leverage
3. To avoid dependency on other countries
4. To maintain operational control over weapons and use without restrictions
5. To develop own MIC , economy
6. To maintain technological independence and lead
7. To ensure on demand supply of weapons
8. To increase deterrence via own military industrial complex, the fact that u can stretch a war as long as u want bec u can maintain the domestic weapon production lines is itself a potent deterrence
9. Get the best weapon possible of which u r in control, not toned down export versions with possible backdoors

Also DRDO VSHORADS has datalink , miniaturised reaction control system ( till date i have not heard of any other manpads of having RCS )

Got it. Could you shed more light on how the miniaturized reaction control system functions? Like an optical tracker?

Simplistically speaking in the VSHORADS reaction control system (RCS) is providing thrust vector control (TVC) making it highly responsive (maneuverable) when the RCS is active, something which generally cannot be done immediately post launch via aerodynamic control Eg just post launch dynamic pressure is low , control surfaces cannot provide deflection

Lch is a light category helicopter purpose designed for high altitude operations where helicopter performance generally drops or unable to operate altogether
