On a performance basis, I haven't been impressed with Frank Kessie impact so far.

He likes to drift into the box but he's always at a different wavelength with the player holding the ball.

He tries to impose his personality in the game by committing too many needless, even dangerous fouls. He is tall. He should be winning tackles and aerial battles without having to foul his opponent in the process.

He makes very little forward passes. Always choosing to pass the ball backwards. If he hopes to dislodge Frenkie de Jong or Gavi or Busquets, then he has to be more daring. Take more risks with the ball.

For me, the jury is still out on him.
