All my life, I have never met an Ijaw person one on one.

I think Ibibio people has more population than Ijaws.

If one goes to different states in the country, how many times can one even find or see an Ijaw person compared to Igbo. It seems the love you have for Igbos can't stop you from opening up new thread daily. Ijaws should face their region continue to be a good father Christmas to the rest of the country. I never knew there was any ethnic group like Ijaw until I found Nairaland. I thought Delta and Edo state were just Bini and Urhobo ethnic groups and I'm from Delta state. Never even knew there were ethnic groups that spoke Igboid language in Delta state.

The only ethnic groups I knew of were the Hausas, Igbos, Yorubas, Binis, Urhobos and Calabar. Lol.

The itsekiris have a complex historical background due to settlement in different locations before their present one during migration.
They have mixed with different groups. But I think it’s unfair to say their ancestry is ijebu. I would say further back ile ife yes. But more recently Benin. Their mingling with other tribes like ijaws, igala, ijebus etc have had influences on the language, traditions and culture and customs of the itsekiris.
Do you know further back there can also be traced to Egypt?

The best way to check the ancestry of people is to check their towns and their Ancestral root.

There is no where in recorded history were it was said prince ginuwa married or birthed kids from an ijebu woman. Okay? The best history told was of a woman of ijaw descent…ogulaha pricisly who he married and who he later killed due to his hot temper. Which later forced him and his entourage (I summarized a lot here) to move from this settlement. At this time he had two descendants/kids.
Apart from this woman nowhere was it mentioned of the origin of those who birthed for him. Pls correct me if wrong with facts. Tell me where it is written a Yoruba woman birthed for him.
