Actually, if it wasn't for PDP's failure, APC wouldn't have smelt power. Remember also that Atiku ran away from this same PDP shortly after losing the primaries to Goodluck to support Buhari in 2015. But he came back to PDP and was still given the ticket for 2019. Even after they were defeated in 2019, were did its presidential candidate go? He spent years in Dubai and came back only recently because election is drawing close. Are you telling me that this type of individual is ready to take over power? Look at the scenario on ground.
