I was planning to return to farm so as to join the food chain and make meaningful impact in the lives of many but news like this can discourage farming potentials... Especially when you do not have capacity to insure your farm.

By the way, the insurer must pay. Awoof has resulted into constipation and diarrhea.

Nimet like Noah informed everyone flood is coming.. you have insured your crop but failed to insure our stomach ..I am still curious how climate change entered this equation. You farm is probably located on the channel to avoid spending much on irrigation.

Why did it affect the price, according to the story Olam supplies only 25% of market needs

lack of maintenance. Only Nigeria builds and thinks what they built will maintain itself.

I can bet that maintenance wasn't included in the planning stages OR someone is eating the maintenance money.

Corruption has finished Nigeria in every way.

Look at what people and investments have to suffer because of corruption.

In a functional society managed by sane leaders, the government would have forestalled this disaster and even if necessary, deployed the military to secure an investment (though private) that is this vital to national food and economic security.

In Nigeria the leaders are busy drinking fura de nono, inflating bogus contracts/projects and gaming the dollar-naira rates through the CBN. And their worthless acolytes on here keep screaming 'God bless our darling Daddy' or 'Asiwaju for Life'

Why do I have this feeling that this is just another format that APC has created to cash out from
This small farm is what they are telling us about losing 4 million tones of rice
That’s bad and pathetic
Next thing now, a bag of rice will be 100k before election
3-4 million tonnes on this small flooded land
Chai, Buhari, Tinubu and APC should have pity on us na

But why blame climate change?
Extreme weather is a fact of life that has existed from time immemorial. The floods if Noah was extreme weather. Same for burning sulphur of Sodom and Gomorrah and the famine in Egypt.
Climate change is leftist propaganda
