1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. |

Preciousgirl:Any sin that does not come with a consequence of death. Blasphemy can be seen as a sin that comes with a penalty of death as forgiveness is completely off the table for such a one who commits it and potentially death is the result. ![]() |

There is no sin God cannot forgive. To refuse to believe in God's capacity to forgive is the sin against the Holy Spirit. |

Its like you asking which poison does not kill. Be not deceived....every sin not genuinely repented of before one closes his/her eyes in death is to the lake of fire which is the second death. Every soul that sinneth shall die |

tete7000:that must be from the book of tete God of course can forgive all sins that HE wills to and HE doesn't will that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit be forgiven for Jesus said: "whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness" an example of the sin against the Holy Spirit is when the pharisees and scribes said the Spirit Jesus performed miracles by is the spirit of the devil: Mar 3:22 The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons". Mar 3:28 Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter Mar 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin Mar 3:30 because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit." you could blasphemy against Jesus and be forgiven if you repent but there is no forgiveness for blaspheming the Holy Spirit Jesus performed miracles by the Holy Spirit in Him |

No man has seen God at any point in time {John 1:18} because God is a spirit {John 4:24} so when God sends out his active force (Holy Spirit) to accomplish something any human who witnessed such an event will be shocked because it will surely surprise him/her. So it is easy to say anything stupid against such an event {Act 2:13} anyone speaking against those involved is sinning against men because those involved aren't doing what is normal so there's every possibility that we can say anything against what seems abnormal. But if we have a foreknowledge about such an event and someone now calls our attention to the prediction (prophecy) about that event we must feel sober and beg for forgiveness from God whose active force we're seeing in action {Act 2:37-38} at that point in time any deliberate attempt to continue speaking against what God's spirit is doing will lead to unforgivable sin! Matthew 12:31-32 WHY? Because the will of God is that all people should come to an accurate knowledge of God and Jesus {1Timothy 2:4} and be saved {John 17:3} so whoever knows what God promised regarding the works of the Holy Spirit and is not interested only need to walk away not to start speaking against it to debar others who may develop interest for truth {Luke 11:52} therefore such individuals have proved that they are irredeemable! ![]() |

johnw47:You are a wonderful person. Is there any form of blasphemy not against the Holy Spirit? If the Pharisees came around and asked to be forgiven for saying Jesus performed miracle by belzebuub, you mean Christ wouldn't forgive them? When Saul who persecuted the church and attributed everything Apostle did as heresy opened eyes and came back to God, was he not accepted back? Was Paul not once one of the scribes? Your understanding of the scripture is shallow. The Pharisees sin was that they refused to acknowledge Christ, they denied his divinity, their hearts were closed and when they were offered repentance and chance to be forgiven, they refused to take it. God can forgive any sin, he is infinitely merciful, does s not want anyone to die in sin, but he cannot do anything for a man who does not believe in his capacity to forgive sin or refuses to believe that his/her sin can be forgiven. Such a person won't even bother to ask for forgiveness in the first instance, and what you don't ask for, you won't get. Have you not read where Jesus told the Pharisees they are hard heartened and unteachable and that's why Moses gave them that injunction on marriage that permits divorce? Being able to quote Bible up and down does not necessarily guarantee anyone's ability to properly interprete it. I repeat again that irrespective of any sin a man commits, if he asks for forgiveness, the infinitely merciful God will always forgive, even when such a person commits sin 77 x 7 times. However, a man who is stoned hearted, who resists the spirit of God and denies his capacity to forgive sin will never be forgiven because he won't even ask for forgiveness in the first instance. Be properly educated! |

tete7000:What he said is CORRECT but he may not know how to explain it well. The Pharisees you mentioned sinned against God's Holy Spirit but Paul did not! How did we know this? Note that the Pharisees as a group work with another group known as "Sadducees" these two rival groups formed the first century Jewish High Court. The Pharisees believe the entire scriptures so they preach about resurrection but the Sadducees on the other hand are also Jews who have mixed thoughts with Babylonian and Grecian mythology so they don't believe in resurrection to them the dead are already living somewhere else either suffering for their past deeds in the former life or enjoying due to their virtues in the former life Herod Antipas supported this group so he has little or no regards for the Mosaic laws which seems too much restrictive . These two groups formed the Jewish High Court of the first century because out of many rival sects the Roman government approved just this two and it's either of the two that will produce the High Priest who must be loyal to the Roman empire. Paul was trained by a Pharisee named Gamaliel {Act 22:3} a prominent member of the Pharisees {Act 5:34} so the Pharisees who connived with the Sadducees to get rid of Jesus knew very well that Jesus is the promised Messiah (Christ) because they are the custodians of the Mosaic laws they could sense from all the things Jesus was doing that truly he is the promised Christ {John 3:2} so when they were planning to kill Jesus one of them called Nicodemus proved through his comments that this group is going off course: "Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and learns what he is doing, does it?” John 7:51 So they were aware of the consequences of their actions against Jesus of Nazareth but because they're working with the other group as politicians under the Roman government and they don't want to loose their position {John 11:48} they consented to getting Jesus killed! What about Paul? Well Gamaliel thought him well so Paul wasn't fighting against the Christians with a wrong motive that's why Jesus pitied this young man and called him to the truth! So while the Pharisees sinned against God's Holy Spirit Paul on the other hand proved innocent as he was doing exactly what was written in the Mosaic laws! Galatians 1:14 God bless you and may you have PEACE! ![]() |

MaxInDHouse:Any my question is this, please answer: 'Supposing these Pharisees came back and said Lord, we have sinned against you, and against heaven and earth, please forgive or ask God for forgiveness on our behalf; will they be forgiven or not? Will God refuse them forgiveness or continues to hold their sins against them despite their plea for mercy? Please I am waiting for your response. While you type my response, reflect on this passage of the scripture too: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.” Matt. 11:21, 23-24 |

tete7000:there are many like you who say differently to God's word truly blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven: Mar 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin @bold, thanks @underline, yet i said exactly what God said in HIS word and truly the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit is not refusing to believe in God's capacity to forgive. that's a sin that can be forgiven |
| Re: Which Sin Does Not Lead To Death? by MaxInDHouse(m): 6:41am On Oct 09, 2022 |
tete7000:Of course He will forgive them! The only problem with unforgivable sin is the goal the sinner is pursuing which will never make him/her repent. Note that Nicodemus was one of the Pharisees but even though he doesn't want to loose his position he's really cautious of his next word or action. After Jesus' ascension to heaven many among the priests who formerly supported Jesus' persecution and execution repented and God welcomed them! Act 6:7 So the unforgivable sin is something that only God can decipher because we can only see the actions of our fellowman but only God knows what is in the hearts of each person that's drawing close to Him! 1Samuel 16:7 |

| Re: Which Sin Does Not Lead To Death? by tete7000(m): 6:51am On Oct 09, 2022 |
MaxInDHouse:Now you agree that unforgiveable sin has to do with a heart that is cold and close to God. The Pharisees sins are not unforgiveable, but their attitude is. God is willing to forgive anyone who comes to him and genuinely asked to be forgiven irrespective if his sin. For God does not want the death of a sin, but rather that all persons come to knowledge of truth and accept God's gift of salvation. |

Preciousgirl:There is only one sin that irrevocably leads to death: Blasphemy against God's Holy Spirit. Every other kind of sin can be atoned for except this. Blasphemy is daring God knowingly to do His worst! It is a rebellion from a person who knows God but dare Him. |

Works of the flesh...they are sins of the flesh which the body carries out (Galatians 5:19-26)....those ones do not lead unto death...but the sin that leads to death is wrought in knowledge...there are not many presently who can commit it...and anyone who does is knowledgeable... It is more of a willful departure...death here is not physical death (it is called sleep, those asleep), but this type is a sin committed by a "brother" (spiritual language)...that is why you can't pray about it because such a person is already gone, eaten up from within. Now, when you see "haters of God" (ignorant or not), it is one who is already inhaling the fragrance of sin unto death. However, to complete the cycle, such a person must have come to the knowledge of the truth (specific, not general believers) (See Hebrews 6:4-6), enlightened...it is not by mistake you commit such sin...you have seen beyond a reasonable doubt, and yet, willfully decide to love the path of this way (sin leading to death). leading = talks of a way; being shown a path to reach a particular destination. leading = also talks of something upon which takes you by hand and shows you how to do something (in this context, die). (Read Psalm 23:2). Now, the sin is a path in itself that leads to a reward (death, which is the second death) So, just as there is a righteousness leading to everlasting life....there is one in the negative leading to the opposite of everlasting life, which if you do very well...you will get death (the original). Death here is gotten while still alive....read about those who got it in Jude 1:12 (@preciousgirl, if you can identify one in this verse, then you understand this). Sin leading unto death is also the way of Cain....(it is the first man it was discovered inside, who expressed that life of sin that leads unto death. Read 1 John 3:12....not a coincidence it came up in the same epistle). This particular epistle we are discussing is a season of Philadelphia (brotherly love). I rest my pen. Preciousgirl: |

Mar 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin no if's or but's there God's word is clear on the matter: 1Jn 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. |
