In the first instance they were purchased with borrowed funds and not from our revenue

Secondly, it is because they bought brand new trains that the cost of tickets are so high and that is the reason there is low patronage of the train services

Using brand new trains now that the Naira is fast loosing value means that the overhead costs will be high as as a result the prices will also be high.

To give you an analogy consider the Uber space...no Uber driver or investor in Nigeria will ever dare buy a brand new Toyota Corolla for Uber cos he/she will never be able to recover the money!
