As for Venables "wasn't bad" is not good enough. We are listing very good to great footballers.

I would say your academy's Top 3 are Greaves, J.T, and Wilkins. Wilkins i really like. He became Chelsea's captain at 18 and was a very good player for both Chelsea and United as well as England. I have seen a few games where his midfield combo with Bryan Robson and Remi Moses was top-notch.

It is by how good you were as a footballer not whether you were the captain of a team. Deschamps that captained France in 1998 is not better than Zidane or Henry.
