Why will inflation not keep soaring high every month when farmers can't go to farm because of buhari and his gangs of fulani murderers. By now we would have thought that the GDP and well being of Nigerians will be better since all Buhari talks about was cow. Let him use the proceeds from cow to sustain the country. If una like vote for Tinubu or Atiku next year, suffer never tire una. Nonsense |

Not sure what products make up Nigeria's CPI but bread alone is up 150% year on year. The internalised issues of security and flooding are not helping while the externalities ie the Ukraine / Russian war is a contributory factor. Nigeria's situation is not unique, inflationary pressures is a global problem. But then what solutions are in place? |

Glycosunde:This is only a partial reason and it does not hold for the entire country. A more significant reason is that Nigeria imports most of its inflation. 14.61% of imports are for food making for about $10 billion. Prices are higher worldwide because of the war in Ukraine and Chinese zero covid policies breaking the value chain. Nigeria's next president is going to remove the subsidy and partially float the Naira so no one should sell us any magic candidates. What lies ahead of every Nigerian is pivot or suffer, innovate or quench. Nobody is coming to create any El Dorado on Nigeria- least of all the man without any Federal experience or record of achievement as a governor. Your life is in your hands Nigerians. Help is not coming soon. Brecon Hills is back. |

I am at a loss here,do we have two categories of inflation?if inflation in the paper in 2005 was that high and prices of commodity in the market were low it means the inflation rates being released from time to time by FBS has nothing to do with the reality on ground! |

My advice for everyone is to really prepare for the worst. Am sure 50kg rice will get to 50k per bag this December except God intervention. See guys, get some money, get some dry food stuffs and keep them. I don't know what can happen but with situation of things. Things will only get worst. Just two weeks ago 1ton of sesame seed was 920k and today is 1,020,000. That is Kano. Everyone should try to get foods at home. If it's tomatoes and peppers and vegetables we can get over it with little cash. But other food flours,(cassava, maize, yam, dry fish, plantain e.t.c, try to get them.) Infact as am talking to you now cocoa is not producing well in the farm. So expect more serious issues. My 5cent. |
