You can't isolate the drones aspect of the embargo. The reason for the discussion (i.e. between Uprightheous and gambo) was the damage the drone were causing.

I am sure, if uprightheous had not mentioned drone, gambo would not have quoted the post.

As at now, the West are claiming that the embago of the UN 2231 doesn't expire until 2023 and are looking to impose further sanctions on Iran.

Meanwhile, the fact remains that whether the embargo has expired or would soon expire, Iranian weapon sales have come to stay because no UNSC resolution of placing further embargo would stick without Russia and China agreeing to it, and we already know the answer to that. That leaves the US and its NATO allies to put out their own embargo which would only amount to mere academic exercise aside from the of members keeping to it.

According to reports in Ukraine, the Ukrainian army has concentrated up to 70,000 of its troops and reservists (by force) along the northern border with Belarus, to defend Kyiv.

The Belarusian army was positioned on the front line in great strength, including armor, artillery and a very large infantry force. If it invades, Kyiv is in danger, and even if he does not invade, it is an asset to the Russians, because these Ukrainian soldiers are grounded to the northern front, and will not be able to help on other fronts. The Russians thereby split the Ukrainian army.

It's same tactics they used in the early days of the war when that huge Russian military column got to the outskirts of Kiev and just stood there doing practically nothing. They succeeded in pinning down the large Ukie forces in Kiev which paved the way for the success they recorded in the East. Russia was never interested in taking Kiev; only kids don't understand the tactical play here.
