samorobo:My friend you also seem like a pretty reasonable guy only that you veer off sometimes. My aim is to engage in productive discussions on issues that face our continent and it'll be of great help to me if we were more realistic and honest with ourselves |

samorobo:My nationality shouldn't be an issue but as I said in the beginning I'm half Moroccan half Mexican and I feel this places me in a good position to mediate on issues between the two sides. |

samorobo:As I said I'll try to be stoic in all our discussions and I don't expect the same from you but I know your heart is at the right place. All of us in here, though we may deny it, are Pan-African to the core and that's all that matters. |

Kenya BRT will never get built , Kenyans must learn from Nigeria and TZ on how to build functional BRT and light rail systems , Oshodi-Abule-Egba Bus Rapid Transit Lane is a 13.65 km lane only took just 2 years to be completed while BRT scheme on a dedicated 22km lane, between CMS and Mile 12, on Ikorodu Road took just 3 years to be built even with the high traffics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mXdbETx4vg

rvp2018:And you don't imagine Helios would not have made enough findings when Orange was dumping the company? These are seasoned investors who understands the African market. That's why they are hiding the details of that deal. Helios got it cheaply. And stripped the company of valuable assets, got some sweetness from your foolish Uhuru Kenyatta and then sold the scrap back to Ruto. The Nigerians are sitting pretty, like your fellow little Indians put it. ![]() |

A seasoned investor would never sell Equity Bank - that bank assets have risen from 2-3B when Helios owned whopping 25% of it - now it's approaching 12B dollars - and is growing very fast. As for Telkom - it has never made any profit - Helios and Gov have had to invest more of their money once in a while sell whatever they could - most of Telkom assets are locked in legal battles with staff members. It remain with huge debts. Kenya gov has made a huge profit after lying to stupid French and Nigerians. Remember in 2007 - they sold it 6B (what helios was paid) premium over what IFC had recommended as sale prize. Notably, France Telecom had paid Sh6 billion premium above what the government’s transaction adviser, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), had quoted as the market valuation of the state corporation. obaaderemi: |

Look like they actually paid the French some serious money - There is always a bigger fool - paid 600M dollars (exchange rate of that time) - and now they taken 50M dollars .They sold Equity for 52B kshs - and put the same on Telkom Kenya. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/financial-standard/article/2000182779/what-the-exit-of-orange-yumobile-tells-us-about-kenyas-telecoms-scene The value of the deal remains a closely guarded secret for now. “Unfortunately, they are not commenting on the transaction at this stage,” said Helios’ PR handlers FTI Consulting. However, sources estimate the deal to be worth about Sh50 billion. The figure is Sh24 billion more than what the Frenchmen paid ($390 million or Sh26 billion) in 2007 to acquire 51 per cent of Telkom Kenya. In the sale, the source told Business Beat that as part of the deal, the new owners are expected to take up Telkom Kenya’s debts accumulated over the years. Although the actual amount pocketed by Orange is unknown for now, close industry observers believe the deal brokered by the French company amounted to a hefty profit that could cover losses it incurred over the eight years since it started operations. However, Treasury is the biggest loser in the deal having seen its stake diluted from 49 per cent to 30 per cent, even though it has over time injected billions of shillings to keep the operator afloat. Also, Telkom Kenya has lost key assets. |

Indeed Kenyans are Crim***ls : how can a 12 kilometer BRT project whose initially costs was to be 5.6 billion Shillings ($46.40 million) and now additional billion Shillings is needed for it to be "completed " by 2024? Dar BRT phase11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd_9vTk9sdk

Helios should take the prize for stupidity. As they were bribing kenya exiting gov to buy them for 60m dollars. Equity bank made 400M dollar PAT last year. This year - it's 250M PAT for half year - likely to close at 600M dollars net profit end of year If Helios were still there that would be 100-150M dollars dividend cheque - in 10yrs - that is a billion dollars in dividend alone. I am sure the Equity valuation now is many x times bigger/ https://www.capitalfm.co.ke/business/2022/03/equity-groups-2021-full-year-net-profit-doubles-to-sh40-1bn/ |

Wuoche:your reasons ? |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Wuoche: 4:58pm On Oct 20, 2022 |
68816419:Both Dar and Lagos BRT systems failed terribly. There is no inspiration that one can get from them. Kenyan media outlet used to compare Tanzanian BRT with local transport but since they realized its failure, they stopped comparing Tanzanian BRT to Matatu. |

68816419:Matatu is more comfortable than BRT. Matatu everyone will get a seat except a conductor. In Matatu there's no sharing of seats like in your Okada. Youths like the liveliness of Matatu. BRT is dull. |
